Hi.
In the course of going about my daily business of thieving ore (In secure space naturally) I've often come across some really dumb miners who either don't know what constitutes an aggressive act or are oblivious to the prescence of sentry guns / concord and happily kill themselves to entertain me.
So i've been thinking about introducing this award for some time, but last night's events finally persuaded me to do so. The winner of the inaguaral stupid miner of the month award is.........(drum roll)............A guy called ANYONE, from Suechtler corp.
Now, ANYONE was mining in an apocalypse in 0.6 when I came along to take his ore. How did he react? He webbified me because he didn't realise it was an aggressive act. Naturally, concord taught him the error of his ways and relieved him of his Apoc, leaving me to collect the ore (and a couple of nice bits of equipment from the wreckage) at my leisure.
Now, It may be a little premature of me to make the February award with a good week or so still to go, but do you think that ANYONE is likely be topped by someone more stupid in the meantime?...........Neither did I.

That's pretty mean. He lost an Apoc because he webified your theif ass, and you find it amusing that he lost a 100mil ship. I mean sure it was stupid, but we still love stupid people.

Point 2: if you must Battleship mine into unsecure cans in secure space, at least try to understand the rules of the game.
Sorry, but his greed by battleship mining into jet cans in sec space was only surpassed by his stupidity in not understanding how the game works. I have no sympathy

Which rules? If there were a manual that had that type of important info then I would agree however, there isn't and it is a trial and error. Unfortunately for this poor soul the 'error' came at a bad time.
Look at it this way, you play the game of life as we all do however if you were faced with an immediate situation wherein you had to know what the critical levels of oxygen are to a human body you may not be so quick to label someone 'stupid' for not knowing an unwritten rule.
So I am a little unsure why you must come here to pound your chest because someone didn't know something.

Greed? You gotta be kidding me. I tried BS mining in high sec zones. What a joke, you make a hideously low amount of money. Why you stupid carebear miners call it greed is beyond me.

Exactly as laws in Poland. If you hit the thief while he's stealing from you, and for your mistake, he gets hurt, you're f...ed. You'll be trialed, and you'll loose :D Of course you could hide all your stuff before in secure can, as well ;)
I just love this game's mechanics.

1.8 mil ISK on scordite/hour.
The best thing to do to ore thieves, back before webbing and scrambling were agressive, was to web and scramble them and have them watch you mine.

Just because the game mechanics allow you to steal from ppl in high sec space, doesn't make it an any less pathetic way to play the game.
Your actions will only serve to frustrate players and if you are in Hi sec space you could well be one of the first ppl a new player comes across. Hardy a good first impression of the game is it? have a moron like you coming along and stealing their ore

How would a new player know to jet can mine?
I like the little ore theives, they make me laugh. Yes one might get a load off of me, but if one moved into my area I'd get a few secure cans and not winge about how unfair it is for them to collect my dumped minerals

ore thiefs should have their clones shredded and then, themselves ejected into a slow decaying orbit around a star in an engineless shuttle...worse then gate campers they are.
i was hit by one the first week i was playing the game...was not a good impression at all...but i laughed when she got banned for an exploit

I dont see how anyone who has played the game long enough to pilot a BS could not know very simple game machanics. Im not in a BS, and I hardly ever PVP, but even I knew that....
Come to think of it, why did he bother to web him anyway, so Tenaj could steal his ore more slowly? cos He wouldn't have been able to shoot him.....

śr, make an anti orethief alt, needs a bit of training, but then you get ore thief protection for the cost of a low lvl clone and a kestrel frigate
if he comes with an indie, log in with an alt, and blast his sorry ass, if he comes with a noob friggie, let him have the ore.. if he is that dumb to ferry ore in a noob frig, he is hardly worth the effort anyways....
