Now, i know this has been the subject of "want-to-nerf" devs, and ive heard alot, and i mean ALOT of rumors about them going to be nerfed, and i want to get it straight, WTF IS GOING TO HAPPEN?
i mean, to quote Jim Raynor:
"anyways i heard cap relays are getting the nerf bat and they will reduce your max shield capacity next patch."
there might be more, but i canŠt find them ATM.

..if they reduce shield capacity, then they presumably also ought to increase capacitor juice as well, just to keep things reasonable -- and vice versa. This'd have to be balanced against batteries and extenders, though, so as to not make those worthless.

if they nerf the cap power relays i will get in a scorpion, tank it out, and throw a bunch of tech 2 cap rechargers on it. Different ship, different means, same result :)

Currently you loose 25% shield recharge rate to gain 20% cap recharge. Now the shield recharge penalty is just bogus, no one cares or uses shield recharge for anything. This is like getting 20% cap recharge for free with no downside. If they change it to lets say 10% of your shield hp then it would become more of a trade of module. In the end it still wont matter much you can have only a 1000hp shield but if you can booster more shield then you getting damage its still a tank. Most likely they will simply change the stacking for cap relays to kill the tank setups.

Strangely enough that IS what they want you to use the scorpion for.
Thats why it has 8 midslots.
THe cap relay nerf will mostly affect tanking setups on things like apoc/tempest/typhoon.
Which don't have 8 midslots and can't really afford to waste them

Idea of the century!
Instead of leaving shield recharge useless, make shield recharge USEFUL, and then by proxy, cap relays get a semi-nerf, without losing their usefulness.
