Hi guys,
I was such a noobster that I wanted 2 try if the 70 Mhz would do me any good (in the grafic settings). Now I cant play the game coz when I log on my acc the screen stayes all black. I guess my screen cant manage the 70Mhz.
My question is: How do I put the 60Mhz back? And is it possible 2 put my settings on Default outside the game?
Someone plz help me
Thx 4 your time

Have you tried to reload the client and see if it resets to 60 as the default?

Well, I guess that if you erase your entire cache folder, it will be ok, but with a huge collatTral. :o I don't know in which file this setting is, perhaps in ½pc.dat+, nothing sure...
Erase it (but keep a copy, just in case).
You may (if you don't use 3rd party like eve launcher, or w/e) find them here: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\settings (change the username obviouly). ッ

The other issue is that I tried 2 do what u said, Nozomi nrvqsr, but I cant even find the cache map. And coz my english sux I dont even know what u mean by "if you don't use 3rd party like eve launcher, or w/e".
I am on trial so maybe I miss all standard maps and such..
Once again, thx for your time mates.

If you have an ATI card, you can force refresh rates (I'm assuming that's what you mean, although even 60MHz would really be way above any monitor) in the catalyst control center, Displays Manager tab has a button to force settings.
On a general note, it's unhealthy to touch an option you don't understand.

I know its unhealthy 2 touch something u dont understand.. But usally thats how u learn what they are made for. I dont have an ATI and I was playing on 60 even if its above any monitor or not..

What is your main language ? Anyway, just copypasta C:\Documents and Settings\ \Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\ in your explorer (not IE!), with your windows username inserted in the blank space. Then delete the entire folder, you will lose all your settings but well, I bet they was at default...

I think I know why: you should don't see the hiden folder, right ? I assume you use win XP, I don't know where it is in vista (but should not differ a lot anw). Oh, my win XP isn't in english so the name can differ, but it should be almost that: Step by step: open the explorer, tools > option > display, file and folders, check "show system folder" & "show files and folder hiden" Now... go on your main hard drive, > Documents and Settings (beware, not the shortcut, the folder in the partition) > your username > Local Settings (hiden) > Application Data (hiden) > CCP > here you go !

I tried with "show files and folder hiden" b4 u told me actually. Show system files tho was the thing I needed 2 do 2 see Local System.
Here comes the negative: Weirdly enough I cant opend that folder nor other system files. I have ADM access so it shouldnt be that, I am admin on this comp..
When I used 2 download torrentz 2 the default map I couldnt neither find the files on the "program files" folder, until I changed the download directory. Its like those folders are damaged or something.
What do u mean "the folder in partition"? Sry 4 not understanding everything u write friend.
Thank you.

I belive they moved it under the "My Documents" now, or you could always do a file search in windows for prefs.ini. --

Hey dude, ill give it a shot... I'll write it in english and danish (as swedish and danish is fairly similar).
C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE
Paste this line in explorer in vista, but remember to replace the "xxxxxx" with your windows user name (U can also navigate to this folder through explorer). Enable "Show hidden files and folders". First try to move "Settings folder" somewhere else and see if that helps. If it doesnt, try moving cache fodler + backup of cache folder. If that doesnt work, try and move everything in the "C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE" folder.
Danish:
C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE

That was it little dude
I sat down with a friend and we looked like crazy for the cache folder. In the end, we found it. I dont know if it was a mistake of me or if this damn Vista is screwed up. Either way, I solved it by deleting the whole "EVE" folder in the directory Aestatic and the others gave me (C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE).
I tried 2 delete only the pref file but that didnt work. Tho I now know that my LCD supports 70Mhz and it still didnt work.
I hope that all of u having same prob will solve this, if not plz contact me coz I am a freaking level 5 on this issue now
Thank you all for trying 2 help me with this, appreciated.. Och tack ska du ha Aestatic f÷r att du f÷rs÷kte ss mycket.
Peace - love & a ****load of good hunting 2 u all!

Once the game has started, press alt+enter. This is the standard keys for switching to windowed mode, and if it works you can change the options back after :)
Also it's 60Hz, not 60MHz :)
