LOOTING
Looting is still annoying as hell with the new UI. I prefer the way it used to be, if you opened a can or wreck the box would be separate, but you could place it near your overview (yes it did drift, but not much) and the loot all button was there. Now the Loot All button is in the cargo window, which for me is generally on the lower left of the screen. So have to track back and forth across the screen now to hit it.
If the old method of looting is going to be dead and gone, can we please make the Loot All button mappable? Open cans, is mappable, heck, changing your portrait is mappable! Loot all was a great feature, the UI gimped it.
Yes, some people find the new method better for them, and for ships like the Noctis where you are just sucking everything in to a pile it is tolerable (still slower though), but when you are looting and salvaging on the fly it sucks.
THE ITEM HANGAR AND THE SHIP HANGAR
Two things I would like to see: 1. An option to move the ship hangar tree to the bottom of the list. When you have one or two ships it isn't a big deal, but when you have a bunch fo prepped PVP ships in your hangar you end up with your active ship cargo at the top of the tree and the items hangar in the bottom and as huge flipping list in the middle. 2. An option, when I open my inventory in a station from the Neocom, to always start with the Items Hangar instead of my cargo hold. If I am docking to get ammo, I need to go get my items hangar, if I am getting a mission item or a purchase, I need to see my items hangar.
THE TREE
One of the great faults of the tree system is huge amount of vertical space it can require. For those of you that don't have more than a couple things, this may not seem like a big issue, but it you are flying an Orca, you can take up 12 lines in that tree just to see the spaces in the ship (for those that are wondering, 1 line for the ship name/cargo hold, 1 for the drone bay, one for the ore bay, one for the maintenance bay, 1 for the corp hangar header, and 7 more for the hangar sections)
A narrow tree-only option that could be to one side and allow players to shift-click the needed windows would be handy. Right now if I want to see a tall tree I have to burn up a lot of screen space with the inventory window that is attached to it.
Also, can we get an option to make the tree scroll bar wider?
TWO CARGO WINDOWS WHEN YOU UNDOCK
This is a bugged feature of the attempts to find some level of happiness with the window 'states'. If you open a different cargo window when in station so you can drag stuff easily and confidently between your ship and the station it does not go away when you undock. But you will still have your old cargo window in space from when you came in (therefore two windows) of which the extra one is not handled by the cargo bay button and has to be X-ed out,
I'm sure I can think of more, the system still seems have a lot of lag issues (like opening a can/wreck at 2500 but you've moved to almost on top of it before the system responds,, and fly-by deplays cause you to turn around rather than grab the loot and keep going).
Check my bio if you want to see if the full version of my sig. CCP made the UI for everybody rather than finding out what the groups wanted. If I tried to make a type of coffee that made all of you happy, and you rated it, the group score for it would be about 60 out of 100. Break into 3 or 4 coffee clusters, and made coffee just for each cluster, the scores would go from 60 to 78. The difference between coffee at 60 and coffee at 78 is a difference between coffee that makes you wince or makes you happy. |
