i'm doing loading it now. going to try it myself. i'm also on the phone to a of the guys that create and deploy the installers.

thats took a whole 1/2. In no other MMOG are we (the players) so spoilt. From when I used to play WoW (gasp) it could take days to get a response.
Well done CCP, a big thanks from me and keep up the good work!

i'm downloading it at home and at work. CCP Hunter is downloading it at home.
i've also installed eve using the full installer that you download, but i got it from the office not the eve site. it installed fine, so i'm assuming 1 of 2 things. it has become corrupted on 1 or more of the limelight servers or it got corrupted on the original upload from Iceland to the limelight servers.
it's being looked into and steps are being taken to make sure this does not happen again. there has also been 2 people at CCP download it and it was corrupted, so were 100% sure it's an issue.
but were on it and it will be sorted out asap.

one question..
Its a bit sad, that i had to go to the general forums, to get noticed with the problem... and that it didnt happen in the Known issues forum instead, with out need to go here and yell on the forum.

i have quite alot of work at the moment and have been generally ignoring the forums as they take more of my time than i can afford at the moment. the only reason i found your thread was basically because someone sent me a mail about it.
(yes yes i'm sad enough to be reading emails on a sunday night)
what you can do in future should this happen again (hopefully not), if you download it 2-3 times and you get the problem, you can ping the server 87.237.38.200 send in about 10-20 pings and if there is no packet losses then just file a stuck petition if possible to alert the GM's who can then poke other people.

CCP Hunter purged the file on the limelight network. it should be working now.
i'm downloading it again at the office and home, but because it's got to seed on the limelight network again, it might be a slow download
please try to download it again, i will be monitoring this thread for the next few days.

I've had the same problem when I first downloaded the game, I actually encountered it 3 times.
Downloadfile corrupted.
I then installed and used "getright", and then the download worked.
The tip about the downloadmanager is actually a good one........ if you haven't tried that is.

The MD5 checksum of the downloaded file (EVE_Setup_37459.exe) should be 70990a45a721f9e6a6b7994471c13f0b. There are various tools available to verify the checksum, my personal favourite is digestIT.

Heres what i've done on my front :
- changed network card
- Re-installd windows XP service pack 2. Fully updated
- used 3 diffrent downloadmanagers
- Used 2 diffrent computers
- I've contacted my ISP, petetiond them id there could be a problem on their end.
- Disabeld ALL non nessary functions in windows. and i mean ALL
- By-passed my switch
- firmware updated my computer
- Bios updated my network card.
- Checked my computer with 2 diffrent Anti-virus programs
- Checked my harddrive with Chkdsk, Norton diskmanager and scan disk
IM out of ideas!

Are you using a proxy or do you know if your ISP uses an intercepting proxy?
As far as we have been able to determine the installer is not corrupt on the Limelight CDN (nevertheless, CCP Hunter. has purged the file to force the edge web servers to reload it).
But there could still be a proxy in between the CDN and you that is caching a corrupt copy.

i have just downloaded the installer and it appears to be fine.
i've just looked on the ftp site for limelight and i noticed an older build. you could try downloading this and then patch up. the build is from 7th of june this year. try downloading and see if that doesn't work. i'm 100% sure that is working.
will look into this further tomorrow morning

Well mate, while your on with that, WHAT ABOUT FIXING THE BLOODY CARD AUTHORISATION DOO DAA AS WELL
SO PEEPS CAN PAY FOR ACCOUNTS, TRANSFER ACCOUNTS ETC.
Your getting in a lot of peoples faces by ignoring petitions and not replying to folk posting in the Known Issues & Workarounds
part of forums.

Get a line test done on your phone line. I know a friend who kept getting corrupted data because of a faulty circuit in a telephone exchange that worked for phone, but not correctly for data. They would never have picked it up unless he harassed them for 3 months :S
Go to a web cafe / friends/ families and download it there. Eve Files have a verified copy of the installer ?

Simple simple possible solution:
When downloading make CERTAIN your cache is clear ( easiest way to do that is to go to internet options in explorer and clear cache.. then go ( for windows xp ) C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 and delete all the contents in those folders ( not the folders themselves )) Doesn't matter what version of IE you are running if memory serves. This will force you to redownload everything from scratch. Preventing your computer from handing you a cached version ( even if it says it is downloading normal speed.. and hands you a 'fresh' copy.. it may still mistakenly give you that corrupted one, I'd had it happen a number of times ).
For mozilla firefox just use 'tools' -> Clear private data make sure the 'cache' checkbox is checked. ( Go to the url about:blank before doing this, so you are certain to have nothing left in cache ). I hope this helps :)

I got a reply from my ISP,
Im on a 'YouSee(TDC DK)' Cabel line 2024/512
They have come with following suggestion:
*some old connection gather points, has been reported for giving such errors wen the user, is using motorola 4200SB series Cabel-modem.*

*you will soon recive a new Cabel modem, that cloud solve your problem.*
Im shareing this as i migt not be the only Cabel modem user here, sitting on an outdated internet connection hub, using an out of date cabel modem.

I would not recommend this. If you apply 20394 patches on the original on CD... you will end up with such a clusterf*** of an EVE client that it will make your ships go backwards and Veldspar roids actually make your standing to Chribba drop when you shoot them.

For what it might be worth;
I downloaded the Eve-Client last night and with digestIT 2004 I get a MD5 of: b77c3ee9f9365275b8a50c8df4e4ffa8 (EVE_Setup_37459.exe).
The download says that it is invalid when run also.

I tried downloading several times last night with a download manager, always that stupid error on install. Again I tried with just a normal download and whoa no error on install.. I dont know if this helps but worked for me.

petition under stuck and have to respond to the GM who blames my computer for CCP's fubared patch page
this page hasnt functioned since the last patch AND yes still have windows defender uninstalled
yet Sharkbait says to petition it so GMs can address it FOR the Love of all thats Holy someone take ownership WE your customer have a problem so Quit blaming us for YOUR problem and STOP saying someone else should fix it. WE dont CARE who fixes the problem we just want it fixed.
HINT how about the freaking GMs and Devs sit down in a conference room at CCP HQ aka Stupidity Central and discuss my petition I find it ridiculous I must waste my time repeatedly timing the same info
over and over.
From reading the above posts my BRAIN FART is have a dev use a remote access program to OBSERVE what happens when a player fails to DOWNLOAD A FILE. It worked when a fellow corpie walked me thru patching my BIOS on my last mobo.
MY download issues
1 cant download using browser firefox nor using Dap my download manager
firefox it stalls after a few K is downloaded
DAP download gets a timeout error and never is shown to start
as to it being my computer
I have downloaded sev different download file of differing types over last 2 weeks including today so its not an issue on my end
also I got an error page when trying to reactivate my acct where you blame the planck generator with forming a bubble
it took 2 attempts to take my money SO your website is having issues in general
and the funny thing is is someone would just email me a 1.5 MB patch file I would already be playing

also I did a google search looking for amyone who put up the file on the net for download
which no one had full install files or the latest patch
BUT I found the softpedia.com site which has a mirror which when attempted gives the EXACT same error as the eve-online website

Well ive CHANGED EVERT THING!!!
on my side now... including cabel modem!!
It seems alot of ppl CANT! download eve!.....neither can i and now i can verify that the problem ISNT!!! on my end... Ive tried all that can be done, ive even had my ISP check their lines, and routes and MADE them give me a new cabel modem.. so... ???
PLEASE dev's you have to react to this!

If you cared to read the entire thread you would find that the problem isnt only for me... AND! sorry but im getting off.. course i've done evrything possible on my side!.. EVERYTHING.. and my isp took it VERY seriously if they were the course of the problem!... they even send a tech worker to check the connections spots from my home to their larger hubs.
Another insentive is, that this problem is ONLY with EVE download...
I've tried several other games, files at 1 gb+ and NO PROBLEMO!.. so
I can download everything fine... Except the eve install!..

If the above suggestiong did not work, I suggest if you are willing, have the full installer downloaded by someone else, verified for MD5, and then split into 15,000,0000 bytes RAR files volumes - should be around 40ish files (14.3mb each).
Then use programs to create .SFV file which includes cRC checksum for EACH RAR!! place everything in one folder, upload to some FTP server.
Then download it using FTPrush, UltraFTP or FlashFXP - all are capable of checking RARs from SFV file on the fly - once file downloaded - it automatically checks - and if its bad, marked filename.r00.BAD - so you redownload ONLY THAT PART, until you get all parts properly :)
reply here if you need help getting this done, only thing I wont help with is finding FTP server to upload it on :P
Anyway that should solve your problem 100%

I can with out a doubt accept if this problem isnt an CCP error only, might be some obscure thing no one has thought about...
Some ****ty windows, driver what ever thing... how ever.. im not the only person with the problem. Which means this isnt a stand-alone issue.

Sharkbait / Devs: Why not setup a MD5 checksum application that transparently varifies the problem on all servers against a md5 file uploaded to the server(s) along with the installer. Have it do a passive check every say, 6 hours? And if there's a problem, throw up a red flag and send a mail to the devs?
Just an idea, I have seen it implemented on a FTP ring for linux before, works quite well.

Some good Samaritan could anonymously upload it to torrentspy or thepiratebay. If you verify the MD5 independently, you're pretty safe.

No, that's what I was going to do before I saw you'd beaten me to it. Good for you. Just realize that even though they give it away for free, and even though you have nothing but good intentions in mind, it might be a legal gray area.
