The following news release is intended for all citizens of New Eden and beyond.
On this day I wish to make it known that a new alliance of ancient origin has been born. Many months of effort have finally come to fruition in the form of DUNE Alliance.
"Fifteen hundred years have passed since Leto's reign ended; humanity is firmly on the Golden Path in New Eden and beyond. By crushing the aspirations of humans for thirty-five hundred years, Leto caused the Scattering, an explosion of humanity into the rest of the universe upon his death. Now, some of those who went out into the universe are coming back, bent on conquest.
The great sandworms are dying. And the ancestors of Dune's children awaken from empire as from a dream, wielding the new power of a heresy called love...
These are The Lost Ones. Last of the Loyal Fedaykin.
These are the Heretics of Dune."
Dune Heretics is an established alliance in the EVE Universe. We have many different aspects of our organization ranging from industrial endeavors to fast paced PVP campaigns. DUNE focuses on elite game play, dealing with more sophisticated modes of operation. Our leadership is experienced and dedicated to our cause.
We are devoted to bringing about a revolution in EVE. A revolution that takes us back to the origins of small scale skirmish warfare and roaming gangs. We long for the time when the thrill of the hunt and satisfaction of a kill are more important than ruling an entire constellation. Our involvement in industry is strictly to provide our organization with the funds to support our military pilots fighting in our name.
We are the Fedaykin, and we are dedicated to avenging the past. We are the last of the original Fremen. We will not rest until our conquest is fulfilled...
At this time...that is all.

The response to my own lack of creativity is amusing.
However, please try to make sure you can properly spell before posting comments about Frank's sacred works...

So what's your position on the expanded works by his son and Kevin Anderson?
Brian and his counter-part did good work, but I don't hold their novels in as high a regard as the original works. However, I am partial to 'The Butlerian Jihad' and see it as a wonderful backstory and setup that assists understanding the mentality of characters in the world of DUNE towards machines and computers in particular. It may actually be my favorite book overall...
(more than happy to continue this discussion on an OOC forum btw...)

Originally by: Adrian Steel I always post in character here but I'll make an exception, because the OP did too.
This entire thread is OOC due to the nature of the backstory of the alliance in question.
Some day, some stooge will make an MMORPG where the backstories of every popular science fiction series will questionably mesh. I hope you (OP) join up with all of the 5 other players and enjoy it for what it's worth.
For the love of CCP, keep out of Eve with your Dune-speak.
Does this mean I shouldn't expect an application to join from you Adrian?
