My theories on what is actually happening on the login screen...
754 people are having fun, or trying too.
Everyone in the queue thinks they are progressing as everyone enters the game.
Whilst in actual fact, you have ~1200 people waiting to be told (including me 3 times!!!)

This will be chalked up to a "We wanted to test the login server, and we did. We appreciate the overwhelming support of the EVE community. However not everything went as planned due to an unexpected turnout, and we apologize to those who didn't gain access to the Armageddon Day event. Furthermore, the data received from today will be used to better the client code and improve Tranquility's stability in future patches." CCP feel free to copy this and use this.

i managed to get on and fly around in a vagabond for around an hour.
had fun and got popped by concord in jita.
it was great fun running through a bubble in empire with dreads and carriers guarding it
chers ccp it was good fun and i hope it becomes a more frequent event

whats most annoying is that Tranquility dt would probably of been much shorter if they werent pratting about with their "Aborted Baby" Armageddon Day. Cheers CCP must remember to try your next great idea.

Armageddon day was bait. I even figured it was, but still tried to log-in to sisi unsuccessfully.
you have to wonder when they advertise in the forums and MOTD for an event on a server that has about 2% the capacity of TQ. If you didn't anticipate a rough ride then i'm sorry you wasted your time.
for the people who called in to work/school just for this 'event', there's an old gold saying, but it can be altered to fit eve:
a bad day in Eve is better than a good day at work

I just laugh all of u whining. Most ppl here just cant understand: THIS WAS NOT A REAL EVENT. This was a Sress Test, on a Test realm. And those of you saying you pay for it: NO! You dont pay for IT! U pay for TQ, not the test server. Its just an extra opportunity, so this epic whining is ridiculous. Some of u say, that CCP do not care about their customers...Geez, its obvius u never played anything else. But go on, whine more, this topic need another 150 pages. En Taro Adun!

The OP announcing the event clearly states the purpose of the event was to test the SOL/proxy servers.
Nowhere there does it say "we guarantee everybody will be having fun".
It says "We are looking into some issues that have been occurring with our proxy servers, so we would very much appreciate as many players to participate as possible".
Have you participated ? GOOD.
One good deed for you today.
Helping out with the test was pure volunteer work.
HAVING A GOOD NUMBER OF PEOPLE FROM TQ COMING OVER ON SISI FOR TESTS AND ALL WORKING FINE IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ACHEIVE
If you feel "used" or "cheated", you have clearly misunderstood the announcement wording.
And CCP can not be blamed for THAT... but still, everybody does it.
