Hello,
I am trying to get some information on how to choose a good corp to do missions for? I am a Gallente Industry character and just wondered if anyone had any tips? Are they all the same or are some better then others?
Many Thanks

Some corps have no medical facilities in their stations; keep this in mind if you dont have jump clones yet.
Some corps have r&d agents (for gallente, Roden Shipyards, Creodron and Duvolle Labs); these can later give you RP's which transform into datacores ie cash, at the cost of nothing but some patience.
Some corps have lots of agents which give courier missions in the same station (eg Roden in Loes has 4 L4q20 + some L3's and L2's all in the same station). Having lots of courier missions in the same station lets you complete them faster, and get storylines more often.
Similarly for agents which provide good kill missions (eg Federal Intelligence Office in Aeschee has 3 L4Q20 agents in one station). Having lots of kill agents in one station lets you easily chose missions you like, rather than finding that you have to wait 4 hours to refuse a mission you dont like because you had two nasties in a row.
Also consider looking at the corps LP stores. Some provide military stuff, inc hardwirings. Some provide exploration related hardwirings, some provide industrial or mining related stuff. Some provide nexus chips (which have a fixed exchange rate with npc buyders). Note that generally the military based LP stores are slightly worse value per lp, as it is easier to get lp fast with kill missions and more people do them.

Selecting a corp to grind can be a daunting task. That's where eve-agents.com comes in.
You should focus on finding several L4 agents for combat-heavy agent types in .5 sec space as far from lowsec as possible. That's the holy grail of missioning.
To that end Gallente have two L4 combat agents, but neither one is very good. Minmatar have two. Caldari have a handful, as do Amarr.
Keep in mind your Jita taxes are based off of Caldari Navy standings. You may wish to grind those guys up to reduce the price of your buy & sell orders -- a must for just about any carebear.

Personally I would call this *******s (I wonder if that gets filtered?).
Low sec agents are far more profitable, tend to be higher quality, and anyway, security status is more significant than quality (lower the better). Finding a good quiet low sec system that isnt full of pirates and has some L4 agents is much more beneficial.

There's no real getting around the fact that a lot of people do decide hisec high quality combat L4s are the holy grail of PvE, or even EVE generally. Sometimes it's based on poor information, often on fear, but a lot of it is just people who rationally decide they don't want to deal with even the possibility of PvP combat, at least during their missions.
I don't particularly like that hisec L4s are such a dominant activity in this game, but it's a cold, hard fact, and it seems fair to bring it up when somebody asks about mission corp choices.
Of course it's also fair to point out the failings of hisec L4s too. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

The only thing more pathetic than a whining carebear is a crying shark. There are people who make the "rational decision" not to become sharkbait in a ship specifically fitted for PvE play? Imagine that. It's so cruel!

Either you misunderstood what I said there, or I have no idea what you're on about. Perhaps both.

In general, when people speak of "cold, hard facts" they mean something like "unpleasant truth", or "regrettable circumstances". So I took you to be saying that you regret that people don't want to be shark food. I find that peculiar.
But perhaps I did misunderstand you. This is one of the risks of attempting communication. That's a cold, hard fact.

Ah, well you did interpret it right, at least partially. But for me the regrettable circumstance, as you put it, isn't that mission runners aren't happily jumping into the jaws of losec pirates merely for the thrill of destroying themselves; it's that CCP has set up the game in such a way that it doesn't make more sense for more non-pirates to live in losec, to learn how to survive and deal with sharks.

I should explain myself a bit. Missioning for many players is an ends, not a means. Our purpose is to improve our missioning ability and to post better and better mission times. As sick as it sounds, it's almost a sport.
The kind of equipment needed to truly excel at missions as opposed to simply finishing them is not suitable for lowsec use. I can afford to replace my CNR and its fittings literaly a dozen times over -- yet it makes absolutely zero mathematical sense to take that ship into a lowsec mission, ever.
The improved efficiency of a rigged and well-fitted CNR (high sec mission taxi) over say an unrigged, t1-fitted sentry Domi (low sec mission taxi) is night and day. And that's doesn't include having to dock and log when probers are nearby.

Comprehensive first reply, just to add a couple of points:
If you are doing low level missions now, look for a corp with good l3's and at least some ok l4's; by the time you can use the l4's you probably won't be that far away from being able to use decent agents from any other corp in that faction. As an industry character you really should check out the whole research thing.
eve-agents is great, but double check the agents in game before deciding - it's not 100% accurate.
As to the high/low sec thing - the rewards in low low sec are way better than high, and some folk do use faction ships with nice fits to make the most of that.

A great way to choose a corp is to check their LP store for rare hardwirings.
