Originally by: Mortim It seems that Revan and Tiger, the formidable forum duo has once again eaten straight out of my hands.
Some quick clarification on the recent standings set by Sylph.
CRMSN were set red after knowing for weeks that they were part of AzA (in an unoffical capacity). We learnt first hand from CRMSN pilots about the initial attack that was supposedly set to rid Sylph of our outpost, and to be used as a staging post for the attack on CVA and co.
We, nay, I strung the remains of his alliance, now tattered due to another occurrence along for a ride of suspicion and subterfuge. Once we'd collected all we needed to know, and gauged the man's guilt, we sought to set the alliance red. Locked and threatened in my hauler in 9UY by the man himself, the Sylph Fleet next door were given permission to fire once the change of standings had been sent and received. (Logs with timestamps will be made public ever so soon)
As for REPO, Sylph has a duty to perform, we're not a holder alliance, pet, or citizen of the CVA Empire. We predominantly live in the Catch region where CVA influence does not stretch. Sylph took a modestly noble call to aid from Sev3rance themselves (more logs coming) and confirmed (again, more logs) that they should fire only on CRMSN pilots. The battle began and the first sign of hostilities from REPO that we saw was the destruction of a Kestrel class frigate.
Now it was discussed in one of the countless other threads Revan considers damaging that the standings had changed. During discussion between the two groups, no investigation was made into who fired first, our eyes open to the fact that REPO, professional mercenaries would have a hard time fulfilling their job, and that Sylph would have a hard time doing what it must to protect its allies, if standings didn't go red at some point.
Without a catalyst, one side would have been seen to betray the other to some degree. I'm sure our upper leaderships will remain in friendly and jovial contact throughout.
So what does that leave us?
A seemingly ineffective snipe at Sylph actions? An angry man with a pocketful of cruisers (coincidentally, bring something that doesn't cloak, or better yet stick around to fight with your pilots rather than flying away top speed. We expected better of you). It provides us with ammunition, not against the fallacy that has become the AzA group, not against the slapstick actions of the individuals, but now the Sylph pilots, once a-slumber should be waking up, taking notice and dusting off their weapons.
Such a fickle attempt to run propaganda against what? An Industrial Alliance, a pet of CVA, an insignificant group of shoddy pilots. You'd know what we were if you took the time to get in your ship and fly. To level your guns in outrage at our unwillingness to fall prey to your feeble attempts writ here.
How many wars does it take to do nothing?
Words only have power when backed up by steel. I challenge you Revan, (Tiger best sit this one out whilst he scours the universe for more hapless fodder for the ranks) to quit your ego-driven pre-battle reports and your twisted knowledge of anything remotely interesting and to show us some force, some reason to slip back into Empire.
Should that happen, we'll show you how it's done in return, consider it a lesson.
True allies in a cause don't turn their backs on you or countermine your efforts. What you hoped to achieve here is beyond me. What you have achieved is a reason beyond all else that such residents of this area rise up against you.
Look at all you now covet and let me tell you this. I've been in it, breathing it, using it and in most ways, running it for close to 8 months now. You have neither the capacity to seize it or hold it for 8 days.
Go back. Rethink. Come back to us with a serious threat.
Sylph's war against the spineless AzA group shall be announced (Revan style) in due time.
Mort
PS: Ooops Tiger. Ooops
rousing stuff - hope it means more Sylph in KBP!
