Please, can we get any easy to understand info on how it will work with some examples?
I personally uses drones only as back-up, but still this can change the way we play - so - since we still have some month or two too release of patch we can focus on learning drone skills or forget about it - but we dont want to loose the time we put into it thjinking it will be uber cool when it will not.... phgewww.... hope it is understandible :)

err.. late last week..
just before the weekend.. hmm, no...
first thing Monday? I mean Tuesday. Wednesday, certainly by then. maybe.

The problem is they want to test all this stuff.
And they want to unveil a lot of it at FanFest.
So stuff is hitting test, and blogs are delayed.

I think its gonna be really simple. Small drones take 5 Mbit/s bandwidth and 5 m3 cargo. So a ship like the Sentinel, with 60 m3 drone bay and 20 Mbit/s bandwidth, can fly 3 sets of 4 small drones. I would bet that mediums take 10 Mbit/s and heavies 25 Mbit/s.

Well, i dont think it will be so simple. dont forget they mentioned that one ship should be albe to fly more "logistc/ew/whatever" drones and mot as many normal combat ones (not in those words, but it was between the lines) - so i guess t works the other way too for "combat specific" drone ships. My thinking is that they will use bandwitch modifiers for ships - for example logistic ship with bonus to bandwitch of logistic drones (or rather lower bandwitch need on those drones)

I never saw that, but they could make it simple even with different classes. If the heavy combat drone does have a 25 Mbit/s value, a heavy logistics could be as low as 10 Mbit/s, meaning any ship with 50 Mbit/s can fly 5 medium combat drones or 5 heavy logistics drones. I believe most of the logistics ships can already fly 5 medium combat drones, so that would keep their power in check.
However, this does open the field for 'combat' ships using logistics drones more, and remote tanks would become FOTM (again) probably... so they may do as you say, give ship class role bonuses to reduce the bandwidth of some drones. Like reducing logistics drone Mbit/s to 1/5th. Then you could fly 5 light combat drones or 5 heavy logistics drones. Though this does mean you could also theoretically fly 25 light logistics drones or 12 medium ones...
Maybe the EW ships will get role bonuses for EW drones as well, hmm...

Sure, it could be just as complicated, but...
I don't buy this idea. I think that by flying more logistic and other special types of drones, they meant that now, we would have room to take them.
Take the example of the vexor/arbitrator cruisers. They are drone dedicated cruisers, but as having 75 m3, you would use them for 5 light and 5 med, this leaves no replacement and no other types of drones.
It means we have to choose if we want to have logistic drones either to drop the med combat drones or the light ones. Just because of dronebay size!
Now, set a bandwidth of 50 m3 (as I see it working this way, bandwidth simply limits the size of drones in space) and a drone bay of 200 m3 :
It can now carry
*5light + 5med for combat (even some spare ones up to 100 m3)
*5med shield drones + 5 med armor drones (or ECM/vamp/damp...)
Would you use spare room to put only combat drones? Most of times, no. Then it is spare room for "more" logistic and EW drones.
