I've been playing Amarr for 6 months now, and I can already solo lvl4 missions and I have found ratting in low sec quite easy in an Assault Frigate. I know other players in corps who can't solo lvl4s and they are older than I am. I've never had issues with my character being handicapped by his laser damage. Capacitor issues suck, but hey train some skills and I now can perma tank with all 8 of my Mega Mods on and an active tank setup. Sure some of the Amarr ships aren't the best. Lots of people malign the Apocalypse, but its possibly the most capacitor steady Amarr ship. I was hammering through lvl4 missions with ease with a well fitted Apocalypse. Lately I have had some issues with being able to fight my way through some of the harder lvl4s but nothing a friend in a BC couldn't help with. Honestly I think the Amarr race is one of the best ratting races, for one HUGE reason, NO AMMO - thats it, no worries about ammo and a great tank too. Now I don't have numbers for my raw DPS or the amount of DPS my tank can take but I know that I like my Amarr pilot and that any changes they make will only make my pilot more Uber.

Amarr are fine for missions or ratting against Sansha/Blood/Drones. Everyone is talking about PvP where amarr = lulz.

I'm not really of the opinion either way at this point. My guess however is that you are looking mostly at mission running. If you are doing most of your missions and even ratting in Amarr space, fighting Sansha or Guristas, then you are fighting against shield tanking enemies. Lasers rip through shield tanks. However there is a large percentage of pilots that armor tank. Amarr, Gallante and many minmatar are armor tanks.
I think those that complain mostly complain about PvP. I've yet to judge myself.

Regardless missioning and PVPing I've really not had any issues.

Err, your post could use some paragraphs, it would be easier to read...
You used Amarr ships for 6 months? Fine. Now spend a month training for a Raven, and then you'll realise just how faster it is for most missions, you'll see how EM damage type on your lasers is hurting you.
About PvP, you have the damage type issue, AND the lack of mid slots, AND again the extreme vulnerability to electronic warfare. Beam setups fitting issues are sugar on top...

It does not matter what what you and I or anyone thinks. The best ship of each class i determined by the amount of people flying it. This is pretty much true for all games. Something suck = people dont fly it. Something owns = people fly it. Now tell me wich BCs are the most flown? Wich cruisers are the most flown? Wich HACs are the most flown? Wich interceptor is most flown? Wich AF is most flown? You get the point yet?

The EANM fitting nerf didn't really solve the problem of the omni tank, people either go for faction/lower req EANMs or the ship already had excess CPU.
The omni tank is a slight problem, but Amarr really are not as bad as people make them out to be. They do have their problem ships (as most races do), and their lack of mid slots means that they have a hard time fitting the popular pvp mid pre-reqs of a MWD, scrambler, injector + web. They're not particularly flexible, and can't be used as effectively in the common approach to solo/small gang pvp as gallente/minmatar. They can still be great though, just check out amarr vids like Cown's series and you'll see that they're in no way useless.
That being said, EM damamge resists are somewhat too high on armour, which is painful as lasers tend to do more em damage than they do thermal. One suggestion I like is simply to swap the damage values of thermal/em around on lasers.
Fitting is also rather tight on several amarr ships, which is a bit of a leftover from the days when lasers were over the top and used as the primary weapon system for any ship with turrets. It's certainly not impossible to come up with good amarr setups though, but they do have a hard time fitting their largest size of turrets than other races do comparatively.
People whine that Amarr ships only have a single bonus due to the Cap amount bonus, but it is really a mental problem more than a real problem. Lasers do a lot of damage on unbonused ships, and are positvely nasty on ships with a single/multiple bonus. I'd advise someone to try out an absolution with command ship 5, it really can rip through it's targets with ease.

Amarr "suck" for one reason. Lasers do mainly EM/therm.
Not that many rat types are EM/therm weak. Fortunately Amarr missions give primarily these rat types.
Armor tankers have naturally high EM resists, often propped up by EANMs
Shield tankers, knowing they're naturally EM-weak, always fit EM hardeners if they have room.

Will you do an AE bonus stage solo ? And how many months will you need ?

OP : Amarr good ships are : Abaddon , Aeon , Archcon , Revelation , Crusader , Sacrilege , Vengeance . The rest of them are lulz .
