i guess that is why i like my G7 mouse, if i don't pay attention to the battery indicator on it, i get a cool popup to change my batteries because they are critical. which takes all of 2 button presses which take all of 5 seconds, plenty of time to move my ore from my hold to my can.

This game is mouse based. I need my mouse to target an enemy (unless I had FoF missiles I suppose) and I need my mouse to warp out.
So this morning, I was casually going about my business, mining a bit for the half hour I had before work. We've been having some problems with ore flippers in our system a bit lately, so I've been mining to several GSCs I've placed around the belts. Two GSCs filled, rats in two belts taken out. No big deal. I warp to the third belt, ready to fill another GSC, and lo and behold, more rats in this belt as well. I warp in, ready to take out the rats and start mining.... and my wireless mouse ****s. I can't target, I can't release my drones, I can't even just warp out of there.
My wireless keyboard and mouse are hooked up to the same system, so the wireless keyboard was out, as well. I tried calling to my corp mates but my keyboard spits out things like "iiiiiiiiii" and "lghop". I'm not about to log off, because the rats have already started shooting at me (and I think I had an agression timer from rats in a previous belt). I log off now, I lose my ship. If I stay on, perhaps my mouse will kick back on or my corp mates can come and help. I'm halfway down on armor (and I'm a shield tanking Caldari) by the time my keyboard works and I can call for help. Too late. I pop before the corp mates can come in.
Reboot of the computer fixed the mouse problem, for now. I wonder if it was something stupid like someone upstairs using a cell phone or something. Ah well. I had insurance, and most of the stuff on my ship actually survived. I petitioned it, if only for the principle of the thing. I'll be able to fly my Retriever tonight or tomorrow anyways, so I guess it's a little bit of a moot point. Anyways, it could be my own fault for using a wireless mouse with the game. Live and learn. :) But tonight, I'm fetching out my wired mouse. :D
The ONLY stupid thing you did was to let your mouse batteries die. I recharge my mouse every night before I go to sleep.
Dont call other people stupid just becouse your mouse is crappy and your R-tarded enough not replace/recharge the mouse.
[EDIT] Why didnt you just put it on recharge for about 30 seconds, that gives you enough time to warp to safety.

There was no talk about battery problems in the first post. If a reboot helped it isnt a battery problem. So read first, train up comprehension to lvl2 at least and post again.
To the wacom. If you want a wacom and eve: Don't use the mouse. Print your eve screen layout, put it on the wacom and use the pen.

My friend, this is EVE, as it's a space oriented game, they couldn't have trolls. We have Caldari.

"my wireless mouse ****s. I can't target, I can't release my drones, I can't even just warp out of there."
This led me to think his batteries went out. Since its wireless the mouse and the keyboard needs somekind of supply of power (batteries).
That and simply didnt see the reboot part
But it could have been batteries problems

I think this all depends on the age/brand, old radio pish is pish, and LIDL..you get what you pay for.
Some recent expensive wireless mice with friken lazor beams are kinda impresive I find.
Wired mice is still the better, as it's only draw back is the rare kicking the wire vs the dagger in the lazy heart of having to charge the darn wireless.

Yes, thank you for the attempt to be helpful, if in a somewhat hostile way. :) If it was the batteries that died, there would have been no problem. I would have replaced them in a jiffy and warped out.
And I didn't call anyone else stupid. (I just now realized that something in my post was starred out, though I didn't swear.) The only thing I was down on was that it is lame that a lot of little rules like how aggression works with players as opposed to NPC rats isn't in the guides, but I'm learning. :D
Oh, I just reread the last part of my post. No, I wasn't calling the people upstairs stupid for using their cell phone or something. I was just saying that if it was something like a cell phone disrupting the wireless capabilities that that would be stupid. The act of a cell phone disrupting the wireless signal would be kind of stupid, not the people. :) Instead of stupid, perhaps I should have said "silly". Anyways, I have a wired mouse now. All is well in the world.'
EDIT: Funny. The forums starred out the word p-o-o-p. ------------------- 4 8 15 16 23 42 108 |

I've been using my Dell Bluetooth keyboard+mouse for months now and its worked better than my wired mouse :) Of course wireless is terrible for first-person-shooters so its back to the Logitech when I play those. Bluetooth FTW for EVE

How considerate of you to waste the GM's vaulable time, petitioning something that is quite obviously a problem with your computer and nothing to do with the EVE server. Some of us have to wait days for a response to genuine problems, because of people like you making stupid petitions.

i have to wonder about the mentality of someone who would petition a ship loss over the failure of their own hardware. was ccp derelict in their duty to come to your home and check your hardware for you?

And people wonder why when they petition for geniune reasons it takes CCP a long to reply.
Its because they have people just petition for the sake of it wasting their time.
