By jumping into any system with a security status lower than 0.5, you are giving your implicit consent to Player vs. Player combat. In other words, you are KNOWINGLY taking a risk that your ship may be destroyed by another human player with little notice or no notice at all.

This risk is amplified when you jump into a system with no security status at all. 0.0 systems are highly dangerous and are known to be the home to many outlaws. There are no protective sentry guns (and where there are sentry guns, they do not protect you).

In sum, it is highly offensive to Player Killers when you complain in the local channel after you have been liberated from your ship.

Moreover, some consider it rude, highly offensive, or somewhat pathetic when a player claims that a Player Killer has "griefed" them or used an "exploit" when the only thing that has happened is that your ship has been destroyed. In fact, quite often the individual whose ship has been destroyed resorts to abusive profanity and offensive language in the local channel after the event in question. This, unlike destroying another player's ship in systems with a security status of 0.5 or less, is against the rules and can result in a petition being filed with the GMs.

So please, for those who travel to low-security systems, understand that you are accepting the risk of being unexpectedly engaged in Player v. Player combat. And mind your manners, as the PKers do not enjoy listening to long rants in the local channel after playing a game according to the rules!
