Yep, they live in SU now.
During OSS/BRUCE's time of peace, OSS got smaller as its major PVP corps went to other pastures, and BRUCE consistently gained more and more members. Certain parts of OSS were infighting frequently, and Groon got tired of being the scapegoat for OSS's problems. I can't even count the number of times that some OSS guy would taunt us asking why we don't have more participation with 350 members. Yeah, we had TONS of inactives that never logged on, and many members would head off to Goonfleet when they wanted to try out their new carriers or just plain got sick of OSS. Hell, OSS voted 8-1 to boot us because VLINC wanted it (and more importantly, the complex that was in UTKS). Yeah, as if booting Groon woulda solved all of the OSS's problems.
As much as it looks like the timing for Groon leaving coincided with BRUCE attacking, the plans to move were forming beforehand. This did solidify it though, I think the common theme for Groons was "fuggit, we're hanging around an alliance where many hate us, meh whatever, the space is alright, this is the Goon mecca, so we'll stick around." So, it was a long time in the making, but BRUCE coming in took away one of the few reasons we had left to stay.
That said, not all of OSS were like that, there were many members of OSS who were just fine, but it was plenty. I'm sure most of the members of the corps that wanted to boot us didn't even know what was going on at the time.
By the time the fighting re-started there wasn't much of a fight. We had a few skirmishes and it didn't take too long before BRUCE mobilized its big guns. It seemed like it could regularly field more than a dozen capital ships, plus have 3x the members. BRUCE doesn't hold back numbers in fights, and OSS would pester its members to join gangs which were just about inevitable to lose.
Anyways, my thoughts on it.
