I'd like to voice my absolute support of Tyto here, IJBM's do kill the spirit of the game, warping *through* stations and gates is not realistic and I would like to see that fixed, however I realise the benefit of IJBM's and that tactical use of setting them up should not be totally nurfed. A lot of people have suggested warp distruptor feilds around stations and gates and in a rp world that makes total sense, however a 15km field I would say is too much, perhaps something more realistic like 7km so that you still gain some benefit from IJBM's however it does not guarantee security.
I would also like to say that safespots will hopefully not be an issue in the future with the proposed introduction of 'scanning' ships which can find ships in mid space (hopefully these will be unarmed with poor maneuverability so that they need an escort.
As another suggestion though which makes things a little tougher for the majority of players, I would like to see sentries having a lock time based on obviously the signature radius of your ships but also the security level of the system you are in, so that in lower sec systems sentries have upto a 10s lock time allowing strategic strikes against players outside stations, this would obviously have consequences in terms of your sec rating, but would mean that players are kept on their toes a bit more. I would also like to see squads of fighters defending stations as well (perhaps even repair drones and tugs to add a little activity around them.)
I realise this effects people who hassle others around their stations and like Switchbl4de that without insta dock BM's would have little chance to dock, however I feel that is in the 'spirit' of the game, the activities of The Organ Grinder Corp should be very difficult to pull off (for those who don't know, they are in enemy territory attacking who they can)
The final point I would like to make is that this thread is about 'spirit' not 'benefit', an attempt by the devs and commitment by the players to make EVE as realistic as possible, please bear that in mind, not what you see as the potential gain/loss in benefit to you or other players (other in game things can be 'tweaked' to correct any large change in who benefits from what)
