Edited by: Garrakh on 18/10/2007 15:36:29 Battleship sizes were reduced in Sisi.
Most of them are now 500.000 m3 or less. That means that they fit inside carriers maintainance bays.
I just want to point out that some of them (Mega, Hyperion, Apoc) are over 500k and don't fit.
Please make them all < 500k or all > 500k.
Ps. I'm not bug reporting it because it is not a bug, just a balance issue.

Yes because the Megathron and Gallente in general are sooo underpowered that they just HAVE to train Caldari to get into the real solopwnmobiles. |

Caldari ships are smaller and more massive than many other ships on a class for class basis. Why shouldn't they be easier to pack into a carrier because of it?
Seems like a way to make caldari ships more appealing for PvP.

The Rohk is hands down the best fleet sniper BS in the game, and carriers are most likely to be used in bulk in resupplying or moving battleships to front line fleet battles, not for small gang work.

Totally disagreeing.
- Using carriers in bulk to move BS to the frontlines would be epicly stupid, between fuelcosts and cynojammers its just not worth it. Use a titan, posbridge or travel your gang the normal way.
- The rokh is not the best fleetsniper, it has pitiful alphastrike and low locking speed resulting in a lower contribution to overall damage in situations where targets die very fast, also it has cap problems and is a tier3 BS. Besides something like the "best" for such a wide area as fleet pvp simply doesnt exist.

The Rokh could be considered 'the best' if you have an entire fleet of Rokhs, since that would allow a fleet to warp in at 240km range and fire with pitiful return fire from the enemy.
But at general engagement ranges which rarely if ever go past 180km in practice in my experience, its not the best ship. It is a very convenient ship though, and that 249km lockrange certainly has advantages for an FC as well. ------------------------------------------------

My general point though is that if you're going to have one tier 3 BS (a sniper BS at that) movable via carrier, then they pretty much ALL should be movable by carrier.
Also, carrier fuel costs aren't so high that jumping in battleships in certain situations would not be useful, and I do imagine at least some of the intent was for moving the Black Ops battleships and Marauders around.
Of course, this could also be a move to allow them to be put into the jump freighter - who knows, but in any case they should be the same size.

U sure u're not friends with that Gumingdogwhatever dude? U must be the only player who believes that 300 (rokh)DPS @180km is better than 450 (abaddon) DPS @180km. ------------------------------------------------ (Recruiting ad) SRBI regrutuju! Dodjite na nas javni SRBI kanal. |

Alpha is generally more important then DPS in a fleet setup since your targets will not be living very long/sticking around very long.
And anyway, this wasn't my point - my opinions on sniper battleships aside, it's stupidly inconsistent to have one races transportable by carrier and not anothers.

Abaddon does 450 dps to 180km? Please sir, enlighten me on how to do this. Cause last i checked you can hit 170+25km, but you dont even get a damage control.
Also, since when did a rokh only hit 180km unless it wasnt using any tracking computers/enhancers?

I think he assumed the fight will happen at 180km, which is pretty valid imho. IF your fleet warps in 240km from the enemy im pretty sure thats unintended. Considering your support will probably warp to 0 at the same time and try holding down the enemy fleet id go so far as call that a major screwup even.
That aside 300dps of the rokh are ok, especially considering it wont ever fight in falloff. What i have a problem with is the low alphastrike(i think its the lowest among all commonly used fleetbs), combined with the fact that it tends to cap out. I ended up rigging my rokh cause i kept capping out firering my guns.
That apart i agree that either all BS should fit into a carrier or none, it doesnt make sense otherwise.

What has one thing to do with the other? Did i at any point in my post even hint that i would even consider using a abaddon? If you take a look where that thread pyramid started you see its about the rokh, and about the rokh i was talking, the abaddon wasnt brought into this by me.
Besides anyone with half a brain can understand that just because i get into alot of prolonged fleetbattles and cap is a issue for me that doesnt mean its true for everyone.
And last but not least, Goumindong was merely pointing out that the abaddon dps values posted dont happen at that range. Which is a simple statement of fact and inturn had nothing at all to do with my post.
