Just has a thought and I am not sure that anyone has brought this up in a relevant thread yet so I made a new one.
As I understand it CCP has decided to introduce drone bandwidth. This will allow them to increase the drone bay size on drone ships while reducing the number / size of drones that they may have in space.
Now it is assumed that this means that ships such as the mrym will no longer be able to use 5 heavie drones. But what if its not that simple? Could it be that T2 drones will require more bandwidth than T1 drones. Could a mryn still use five T1 heavies but not five T2's? T2 turrets and bays have always had higher fitting requirements could there be a skill?
I suppose that whould depend on how much of a difference this would make to its DPS.
I am just saying that I think this is a possible not that I know anything. Infact there may be something official I have not read that rules this out. But I thought it worth thinking about. I have seen a number of incidents when CCP have anounced something and everyone has jumped to the wrong conclushion and think that this may be one of them.

I think this is very much a possibility. Especially as the introduction of named drones was mentioned somewhere. So named drones may have a different bandwidth consumption. But maybe they are just overpriced t2 drones for people who just can't invest the time for heavy drones 5 right now. Who knows.

There might also be bandwidth-increasing "drone fitting modules".

I hope bandwidth makes it more complicated. Complicated means more variety in the sandbox. I always thought it was rather arbitrary that you could field no more than 5 drones even if you had the skills for more. BW explains that now. Imagine if BW would let you field 12 lights instead of 5 heavies. Oh the madness! :)
The only guess I'm going to take a stab to say they'll probably have high-slot modules - like Drone link aug - that increase BW. This would allowing pilots to choose how drone-centric they really want to be.
This could also open a whole new area of EWAR modules that will limit/boost the bandwidth of other ships. But of course people will cry "nerf".
