No picture, but it's pretty simple.
Strip everything off your Neocom except that chat icon, which didn't allow me to remove it at all, even using a trick someone else suggested. I tried it before I read the suggestion, but it just bumped the group out of the way.
Right click an empty section of the Neocom and creat new Group. You'll get a layered icon you can put stuff in.
Now open the EVE menu, (yes, every time), and drag fitting on to the Neocom, then Fleet, Corporation, Calender, etc.. Whatever you actually want on the Neocom. Move the layered stack down to the bottom first, then bump Fleet to the top, then Corp under that, and so on.
Now you'll want to grab things out of the EVE menu that you don't want to dig in those group menus for, but don't need readily available on your Neocom. Take these and drop them on the empty part of your Neocom, then grab them and toss them in preferred order in your layered menu.
Anything readily accessible on the top layer of the EVE menu is fine. It's just one click away.
Grab the side of the Neocom and stretch or thin it out to your preference, and pick left or right with right click options. Autohide is a nice feature too.
Everything seems to bump and slide nicely now, so autohide feature works nicely. Exception is that shift-grabbing a Character sheet bumped against the chat windows, then dropping it in a larger window to stack drags the chats with it. Probably happens elsewhere too. Only need to fix it once though, if you never move anything again.
Pin the windows you want, except for info and other windows that tend to layer over others when called up, and don't functionally or actually have the ability to stack. They won't move anyway in my experience, and recall to the last place you put them provided you do it right.
Had a stack of two, (cargo and drone bay), that didn't stick together because of the way I moved them, and one ended up back in the original starting place the next time I called it up. Stacked and pinned, they seem to stay where they are though, provided you do it in a specific fashion. Can't remember how, just that it worked.
Fleet stays pinned, but Fleet Composition unstacks and appears in the wrong spot the next time you use them. That would be the only exception I found.
Of course, I haven't tried undocking yet, but everything seemed nice and stable in station, with logging off or quitting, and restarting.
First time I've bothered to even try managing my overview in more than a year I think. Last time it just disintegrated everytime I tried, so never bothered again.
Sorry, no pics, but I'm sure if you check an EVE youtube video at 1080p you'll be able to pause and check it. |
