So in WoW you chose a PvE server, killed lots of big monsters and felt like a boss.
Eve's different, it's just one PvP server. No matter what you do from buying 1 unit of tritanium to leading a 2000 man fleet it's all rooted in PvP.
This is something you need to accept, sure there are ways of mitigating the chances that someone will turn up and shoot at you but ultimately if you want to lone wolf and do no PvP, go play the X3: The Threat.
This really isn't a troll post, I just don't get why people would sign up to a PvP game (even mining and selling the ore is pvp) and then complain about it. |

But I can get 1 unit of trit by docking in a pod.... "The EVE forums are intended to provide a warm, friendly atmosphere for the EVE community."-áGÇö-áEVElopedia |

The game has a tutorial that gives you a mining laser and a railgun and tells you to go shoot rocks and red crosses. It teaches you nothing else. It's been that way for 8 years, so are you really surprised that there are people who aren't aware that this is a pvp game? |

I'm not saying everywhere should be null. There are advantages of having areas that make it easier to get into the game now the community has grown to the size it is.
This doesn't stop it from being a pvp game though and by signing up you need to accept this. |

Again, lobby CCP because they are the ones who say it isn't a PvP game. It is sold as a sandbox with PvP freedom. |

Links or it didn't happen.
To me "sandbox with PvP freedom" means "PvP Sandbox" which means "a game with PvP at it's core". If they really mean that "It's not pvp in high sec" why are Concord a consequence to your action and not a prevention?
oh and quit going on about "lobbying" people, like I'm that invested in the game. If they turn it pure PvE or PvP only in 0.0 I'll just quit and go play something else. |

I want this game to be a PVP Sandbox, not a gank-anyone-who-looks-at-you-funny box, if this game had nothing but 0.0 space I guarantee you it would be dead as the rest of 0.0 space within a month.
The thing about this game is, when you die, you're done, you have to go back to grinding ISK again, no one wants to do that, you have to be in a huge group to use the cheap ass frigates effectively and while that might be fun for alliances etc. what about the people who just want to play the game every now and then or roam about in small groups?
"don't get us wrong, we don't want to screw new players, on the contrary. The core problem here is that tech 1 frigates and cruisers should be appealing enough to be viable platforms in both PvE and PvP." -á - CCP Ytterbium |

People don't believe that Eve is actually what game forums say. ie they don't believe that you can kill anyone anywhere or scam anyone and that's fine.
That and we periodically get the fallout from failed/failing space games - eg Celestial Horizon was the corp for people from EaB and the "griefer scum" wailing was epic then. Some of them adapted (very well) but most quit.
Eve is a Darwinian game at heart - adapt (evolve) or die (quit) and most anything goes. I think that's why it still exists - unlike most MMOs launched 9 years ago. |

"In EVE you are free to choose your own destiny. You start out as a character from one of four races that inhabit the EVE universe but apart from slightly different starting skills you are free to take your character in any direction you want. You are not restricted by predefined character classes or professions. You can trade to make a living, conduct mining operations, market your fighting skills as a mercenary, camp the spacelanes for profit as a pirate, conduct espionage and infiltration, focus on research and manufacturing, or perform increasingly profitable missions for NPC (non player controlled, run by the EVE system) agents. What you choose to do day by day is up to you. You can play alone, form a corporation (equivalent of clan or guild) with a close group of friends or seek entrance to any of the large player run corporations and alliances already established. The EVE Unviverse and its 5000 unique solar systems are yours to explore and conquer. "
Doesn't sound like PvP to me.

I don't get a lot of game time. Job and all. So I spend a lot of time on the forums. And I'm not picking up on people complaining about the existence of pew pew PvP. What I am perceiving are expressions of stress and frustration that accompany a lack of ability to exact some revenge or "get some back". There's also a level of helplessness that only serves to exacerbate the situation. Face it, not all players are willing to engage in the PvP that involves pew pew....but all players deserve the right to play the game by subscription.
Really, must we continue to suffer the delusion that of 40,000 players logged in to Tranquility that the majority of them pay any attention at all to the recommendations posted on the forums?
No, and it really is delusional. Crowds don't work that way.
I find it bizarre that in a server population of this size, and with its global reach, that some find it annoying to encounter a full range of human responses; including risk/loss aversion, introversion, etc.
The solo hauler gets ganked and loses a large chunk of ISK. Quick, what's he do? What's he do that doesn't involve waiting for better combat skills (even if he's uninterested in that part of play), joining a corp (even if he does not want to join a corp), or hiring mercenaries (even if he's been aware enough to learn to trust no one).
One method could alleviate a chunk of the frustration and reduce the feelings of helplessness. A real, working bounty system.
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like? |

Solely PvP would be BF3 or the like. |

GǪexcept that pretty much all the promotional material highlights the PvP, and that all the buzz surrounding the game is about the large-scale PvP and the massive affects players have on each other.
