MINING is pve, moon fighting is partly pvp.
there is no challenge in buying ammo. You don't compete with anyone.
Selling ammo is not PvP, it is market mechanics. Lowest buy order goes first, you don't compete in quality.

Ever stepped out of the starter system? Doesn't sound like it. Who do you think you're competing against in the market, other players. Ergo the market is pvp. |

Players... and bots that can read numbers and undercut you by 0.01 isk.
Any activity that can be botted like that isn't really PvP imo, and yes trade can be botted.
By the way if anyone can write a bot that does DBRB fleets the entire CFC would literally give you all their real money for it. |

If you think playing the market is the same as the .01 ISK game you have no clue. No clue at all. |

It is not because changing some systems to highsec could be done in a few minutes. Fixing all the problems new players coming from bad game design would have required a few month work of capable programmers.

Eve's different, it's just one PvP server. No matter what you do from buying 1 unit of tritanium to leading a 2000 man fleet it's all rooted in PvP.
This is something you need to accept, sure there are ways of mitigating the chances that someone will turn up and shoot at you but ultimately if you want to lone wolf and do no PvP, go play the X3: The Threat.
This really isn't a troll post, I just don't get why people would sign up to a PvP game (even mining and selling the ore is pvp) and then complain about it.
EVE is just one shard...
What it is its up to everyone.. now go away.. thanks.
I dont care what you think or what the next guy thinks... I play when i want and how i want. You do the same. That is about that.
Also PvP for "purpose" is different to PvP for "nothing" .. If you cant see it, i am sorry. Sure everyone can fabricate some stupid reason why do something .. and claim it got purpose, but it does not. And the one who made such claim knows it very well.. Not sure if he tries to lie to himself and in time actually believe in that garbage or just hinks that he is absolutely briliant thinker and no-body else can see through bullshit.
Either way its all bullshit.
To add You want meaningless fights instant gratification go play counter strike.
EVE is an game. Disputes about PvPs etc is meaningless ..
Honestly people spewing garbage with PvP , PvE should all go to WoW..
EVE is pollitics. |

Yeah, remember that epic cinematic Eve trailer CCP made about how some higsec mission runner who ran the same Angel Extravaganza mission 15 times in an officer fit Golem and made the numbers in his wallet go up? The dramatic ending where he whined in local about the ninja salvager steeling his salvage, and then shot the wrecks so he couldn't get the salvage.
IT WAS SO REAL! I WAS THERE!

I'm glad you mentioned WoW...by your criteria, it is also a purely PvP game. How is this possible, you ask? Glad you inquired.
The only real thing that WoW doesn't have and Eve does is a player run market. Otherwise, you have resource competition, Mining and salvaging in Eve, mining, and herbing come to mind in WoW. You have Contracts in Eve, it's WoW parellel is the Auction house. You have competition in the industrial sector in EvE, mirrored by the blacksmithing, gemcrafting, and engineering sector in WoW, competing to make your stuffs for some money. Mission runners in EvE are actually in less competition than quest runners in WoW, in that area, WoW is more PvP. In fact, if you make a mistake while you are doing your questing, you might end up a victim of the opposing faction, and there is no CONCORD to save you or kill you there. Saw that happen in Firelands quite a bit actually.
I may have missed a couple of things, those are the examples that come to mind readily. So while Eve is more PvP friendly than WoW in execution, I don't even entertain the notion that Eve is more PvP than any other MMO out there. It just gets more of the market focus in that aspect of the game. Truthfully though, I like the Eve PvP mechanic more than the WoW PvP mechanic. Just feels more intuitive, and thus somewhat more developed. I'm going to hang out in F&I for awhile...less crazy there right now. |

I dont do anything, my time is coming... I dont see purpose/meaning in any action, and i am probably more close to actuall reality than any of you ever be.
But yes high sec mission runners are indeed a bit on the over-reacting side... i give you that.. Altho i havent spoke to much, just saw reactions to ninja salvagers etc.. i used to abondon wrecks and place bm in an can which i abondoned afterwards somewhere at gate or station .. for whoever wants it to take it. |

I do like parts of EVE but im not really into PVP. All I can say is that EVE has a tiny fraction of players compared to some other games and it's only a matter of time before they change the game to cater to people that do not want to PVP.
I'll use UO as a example, when UO started 15 years ago it took the game world by storm, then the thieves and reds griefed so many player's and so many people quit UO almost went under...so they changed the game and to this day UO has over 2 million active accounts. You can still PVP and itGÇÖs lots of fun but the truth is itGÇÖs a business. |

Never did get into UO alot...people think today's MMOs are a grind...try UO back in the day. I still have no regrets over not playing that game more than I did. In reality, UO was the biggest reason I didn't do Pay to Play games for over half a decade. I'm going to hang out in F&I for awhile...less crazy there right now. |

you are totaly wrong
1, eve can be played as lone wolf 2, you can play for ever whith out ever engaging in pvp just doing pve
and no is not all pvp hi sec is not pvp to begin whith it, it started to be used by gankers and can flipers but if you don't pick the can or dont take the kr on someone that ganked you then you can just keeping the pve lone wolf play
if you think all eve is about pvp you are dilusional. |

Yes you can play as a lone wolf. I have done that for around 5 years or so and done quite well for myself, amassing quite a fortune and quite a collection of ships. But IMO you need a team (corp/alliance) to take advantage of everything EVE has to offer. If only for safety. Living alone in a wormhole will get you evicted quickly. Living alone in null will get you ganked quickly. Without these two facets of the game you will not be fully enjoying it. Imagine my surprise in null when I found out that my manufacturing was bottle-necked because of a shortage of low end minerals like tritanium and pyerite! I've got megacyte and zydrine coming out of my ears. Completely the opposite situation that I faced in high sec.
As for your second point - PVP will find you no matter where you are. The only way to avoid it is to never undock, and even then expect to be scammed. |
