Edited by: Graalum on 23/10/2007 04:35:10 A corp mate and i were having a discussion about breaking sov 4.
My hypothesis was this: That if alliance A has 5 large towers in a sovereignty 4 system, alliance B can pos-bomb this system, and eventually, without attacking either of the other outposts in this constellation, break constellation sovereignty and therefore sov 4. If I am incorrect though, that means you can hold sov 4 with a single small tower without worry, which is lame imo.
edited to fix errors.

You should be able to POS-bomb, but being able to hold sov 4 with a single tower isn't lame, it's intentional. If you want to break sov 4, you first need to break consov, which means you shouldn't even be attacking the sov 4 system. That said any alliance worth its beans will be taking full advantage of the sov 4 system, and have it full of POSs doing things like reactions and shipbuilding. ---- AUS Corp Lead Megalomanic EVE Automated Influence Map: Keeping Down The Clone Business Since 2007AD |

So in simpler terms, i'm wrong?

not that you are wrong, but the odds of finding a sov 4 system where the owning alliance doesn't have a POS on every moon is probably highly unlikely. Hard to POS Bomb when the moons are all full, and you can't attack the existing pos's either, because of sov4... so, your target has to be neighboring systems, to break the constellation sovereignty
The advantage of sov 4 isn't that it makes you invulnerable, but that it gives you a LOT of time to stage a defense.

please find me a constellation with 3 systems that are cheap and affordable to have fully possed. Thanks.

im rather sure only the alliance with sov 4 can anchor towers in the sov 4 system. As that would be very lame if you could anchor a bunch of towers to break it.

From what I remember this is correct. IIRC you can't even attack the towers in a sov 4 (capital) system. What you have to do is break the constellation sov. by hitting the sov 3 systems, say one of the other station systems. It will take time and the defenders have a chance to keep sov 4 as long as sov does not flip in any of the other systems ________________________ PKKP recruitment |

Out of shear curiousity how much would an alliance charge to rent a moon in a Sov 4 system - with a 1 man corp running it and joining the sov holding alliance?

Edited by: Admiral Nova on 23/10/2007 20:02:41 You can hold a sov 4 system with 0 towers in that system. Yes NONE. You do howerver have to have your other 2 station systems with sov, as well as 51% of the constellation total with sov. There is NOTHING stopping an enemy anchoring towers in your sov 4 system, though it will not help them break sov 4. Once your sov 4 is broken however they will rapidly take control of your capital if they already have the majority of towers there.
(The basic is in the capital system sov is unchallengable and assumed until sov 4 is broken elsewhere. You do not need to 'hold' it, because it is assumed.)
