Edited by: Mr McCargo on 24/10/2007 15:49:06 I lol'ed at that one.
I'm a month and a half old player. When I recently lost 600m by a typo while modifying my order, I just closed my computer and took a day off from Eve and next day continued, as if nothing had happened. You just have to deal with it and not fly anything you can't afford to lose.
Originally by: RoSsCs I may be wrong, but by the looks of it he didn't really work for the isk for that tower, well not in eve anyway:

Time to sell some more timecodes?

Just curious.
Personally I'd work it as a monthly fee and the higher the amount to be insured the higher the fee, obviously.
I'm trying to work out how you could include some variable where your premium would go up for losing cargo in a ship that wasn't a T2 Hauler of some variety.
PS Tabula Rasa is **** Souffle by all accounts. Planetside is ****balls too, but that is all-PVP and non-instanced.
Your comparison here is more like Collateral on courier contracts. If the courier you hired does get blown up, you get to keep the collateral, which is just like getting an insurance pay out.
No. I mean the courier themselves has Goods In Transit insurance.
Collat is only insurance for the person hiring the courier.

hmm..a couple thoughts: insurance policies for cargo have merits and issues, and it is a valid topic for discussion.
HAVING SAID THAT......you took a .5B cargo out in a t1 ship without any escort or protection?
you do not complain about not having an umbrella AFTER you go out in the storm. You knew there was no cargo insurance before you embarked on this mission of lunacy-why didn't you plan for it?

WELL!!! So much for having my own POS... thats down the toilet now.
I feel like I just wasted 6 months of my life.
Losing 500 million worth months of work in a flash to some greedy lazy human scum has laid the last straw on the camels back.
So it takes you 6 months to make 500 million according to what you're saying. That's 83.3 million per month. When you had this plan to launch LARGE control tower, did you ever consider the monthly fuel costs? Do you realize you are making about half of what it costs to fuel a large tower?
On top of this, have you looked at what labs costs (assuming you're doing hisec research)? You're looking a minimum of several hundreds of millions to plug it full of labs depending on how many you want.
Or... maybe you were just wanting to anchor the tower, put the thing online and then claim you beat EVE?
If you're going to do things alone, make sure you use the right tools.
Good luck with the cargo insurance thing.

Huh. I know I, as the customer, can insure a package I am having the post office send for me, but can the post office insure that package as well? <shrug> ------------------- 4 8 15 16 23 42 108 |

Yes.
I mean otherwise would they really be able to carry anything even vaguely expensive for other businesses?

The stupidity level of the OP is over 9000...
Don't haul half a billion worth of stuff in a ship costing half a million. See the discrepancy there? Any surviving stuff would find a happy home with me, untill I get it blown up.

(no doubt only in hopes it would survive for the looting, lazy ass scab)
WELL!!! So much for having my own POS... thats down the toilet now.
AND YAY I get 200k compensation!!!
I can maybe purchase a whole FRIGATE with THAT! I'll be UBER!!!!
Not bad for losing 505 million worth of True Sansha Control tower!
I feel like I just wasted 6 months of my life.
This game is getting old WAY fast.
CCP DEVS If I can't insure ships mods and contents I'll be gone period
And to THINK I was just gearing up to invest even MORE time and money into EVE!! Losing 500 million worth months of work in a flash to some greedy lazy human scum has laid the last straw on the camels back.
I have lost all interest... Letting my 4 accounts expire. I will check forums once a month until I see cargo insurance is in game.. Until then.. buh bye..
Tabula Rasa here I come
No need to quit the game, just keep whining about it. CCP will soon change their minds, like they will for the carrier plans, if enough people whinge.
