Agreed. If you're incapable of being reasonable in a debate, by adding to it anyway you generally hurt the credibility of anyone who believes the same thing. If you can't make a logical argument against a change without resorting to name-calling, insults, and statements about quitting, then you've already lost. ---------------- Tarminic - 29 million SP in Forum Warfare Originally by: CCP Wrangler Booooo!!! Originally by: akast Trading and markets are done in many games.
Example of another MMO with a player-driven market, please. OR another MMO that companies are sending their executives to to train in corporate management.
Quote: Optimising gear selection for the tasks too. PvP in Eve is not a test of skill or tactics. Whoever has the better ships/trained skills wins.
You should probably go let Goonswarm know that they're actually losing the war then.
Quote: As a noob you have no incentive to start playing. You cant be the best through your lighting fast reflexes, or your superior learning skills (using in game themes). You are the best if you have subscibed for 5 years.
That's funny, I've beat older players than myself in combat. If you think that SP is the only judge, or even the primary judge, of skill than you need to re-evaluate your priorities.
Quote: So they want people to pay to be victims?. It doesnt work like that. Eve will become a universe of trillion ISK deathstars flown by veterans. They wont have anyone to play with in the empty universe since no noobs wanted to join and the other vets left through normal attrition.
Which is why - despite the game being around for 6 years - most of EVEs players are less than 3 years old, and at least half are less than 1.5 years old.
Quote: Perhaps its the social aspects. But them so many games have that, some like SL are only that.
Well that's a complex issue to address, but generally the capability for players to gain and lose assets and hard-earned ships fosters a greater sense of community between groups/corporations/alliances than any other game.
Quote: As a PvP game it stinks, does not allow skill as statd.
"Skill" includes more than your ability to click fast, your framerate, and the precision of your mouse. If you think that PvP (other than gatecamps) requires no skill, you should really get yourself involved in some non-gatecamp PvP. ---------------- Tarminic - 29 million SP in Forum Warfare Originally by: CCP Wrangler Booooo!!!
