It's not very 50% but... your comment is flawed. If I go mine with a thorax for few hours, I can make 4-5mil in ores. If I do the same, with my BS, I can get 10 mil. BS mining is kinda a lot faster than cruiser mining, plus you see the results quite more rapidly.
As you said, if it takes 300 hours to mine with a cruiser, its 150 hours for a BS.
Now, since you have mined the first BS with a cruiser, it takes a total of like 200 hours to get all, since you are mining with the BS. Now, 300 vs 200, thats a freaking big difference for someone who plays 10 hours a week, or 20h/w. This means like 10 weeks or 5, which is freaking long.

Whatever your opinion may be, im still convinced that using a BS to mine for other BSs to use them in combat is not viable or efficient, but only if you mine for your life. Except if you plan to lose a lot of em, but then you have to mine your whole life, anyway  .
The point stands you cant use more harvesters in a BS, so you can mine about 1000m3 in secure space with a BS, and 650 with a thorax, even taking into account that you wont fit only miner IIs in the thorax cause cpu issues. So its 50% faster in the BS.
If you go into low sec, a BS is of course far superior to a thorax, but you put it at risk there  .
And id personally prefer to spend 70 hours mining in a thorax for a BS, and then putting it to risk, to 70 hours to get the first one to spend 50 hours mining for the second one to be able to risk that one (id have to spare the first one to mine again when i loose the second), summing up to 120 hours.
if i lose one i nowadays i lose 60% of cost max, ergo 60 million. I need 33% percent longer to get that with the thorax, about 12 hours. So i can loose 4 and still have saved timed compared to always having one parked risk free to be able to mine for a new one, cause that would cost me 50 hours.
The debate is kind of virtual anyway, cause i wouldnt want to mine for a single BS (come on, 70 hours staring at a rock?), and mining in one in 1.0 or 0.9 is just sad.
Your points are valid though, from some point of view, but i think that point of view is a miners one, which i dont share. If i want to mine all day, im off course better off in a BS.
