Well really your just using some basic setups, when you look at them they are #1 designed to be more otwards ratting and missions, and #2 it doesn't take into account the resourcefulness of players.
I guarantee once Marauders are released someone will have a Golem or Pally putting more DPS on the plate than the tier 3 hulls if not every other Marauder.
Also, for the Golem you get a TP bonus, which means more damage, more resistances and shield boost amount (which considering Ravens are always active tank unless noob or godly skills) = better tank. Plus you lose 2 launchers but gain 2x DPS on all missiles from just the role bonus. And from what I hear they're coming out with some sort of Heavy Assault Torp? so basically thats one of your "no good" Marauder theorys put to shambles.

P.S to back up the DPS turret thingy the Kronos "aka Megathron" only has 4 turrets so basically it loses out on 3 turrets and what would usually be a launcher. Can't wait till the new ships are put onto QuickFit, guaranteed I'll have a godly setup for the Kronos in an hour. Sarge "Hey, Grif chupathingy how bout it? I like it got a ring to it"

Thats exactely the problem. We dont need a better tank, raven tanks just fine. WE NEED MORE DPS OR VOLLEY DAMAGE OR BE ABLE TO FIT TORPS for DEADSPACE PVE.

Originally by: Esmenet What it comes down to is if you are willing to pay 10(?) times more for a ship that will finish your lvl 4 mission slower than a standard t1 raven to get a range bonus on your tractor beams. I doubt any mission runners will want to do that. Its also more effective to salvage/loot your mission with a dedicated salvage ship after finishing it.
It's quite easy to answer that question. Ofc I will want that ship. I will use it as dedicated salvage ship and use my 'pimped for damage CNR' to complete those missions as fast as I'm used to. Throw in 2x salvage rigs, use 3x tractors + 4x salvagers and you will better off than doing it in salvage destroyer/interdictor currently.
Is it cost effective use for that ship? Well ofcource not, but it's added comfort same as faction tank is not needed for lev 4 missions but used mostly for additional comfort for not having to babysit your shieldbooster.

100% agree, marauders will likely be the best salvaging ships around easily over 2000 m¦ cargo and nearly no need to move to get all wrecks with your tractors.

I suppose some small part of me is withholding the necessary hope required to view the Marauders as the massive damage dealers they were meant to be. Honestly, I can't understand why they would enter circulation with a raw damage potential anywhere near their T1 or faction counterparts.
Perhaps there will be a siege module designed specifically for them, providing the bonus we all think they deserve. ----------------- Molon Labe! |

That i can understand. Marauders will be a great salvageship for the rich players. But somehow i doubt thats what CCP wanted marauders to be.

Think the only way the maraders will be used of cnrs and other faction bs's is if they have a special bonus that allows mwd's in deadspace, that way the golem can use its torps and the target painter bonus and the other ships can get in range to start killing 2. This will also allow them to salvage and loot as they go along very quickly. I think this one change to the maraders would make them excellent in the pve arena but make no difference to there pvp abilitys.
