There's so much lore in the EVE universe, yet it all seems to go to waste! Is there any plan for a book soon? I'd definitely read it.
A book detailing the Matari would be excellent :D
Or a book following a pilot/pirate/whatever, first or third person.

I believe CCP has commented on this by saying something to the affect that there are potential thoughts of a discussion of the idea of a meeting about likley coming up with an announcement that may explore whether or not a meeting will be held about this happening someday. Expect something around 2008-2050 timeframe.

There's a book on the Art of EVE, and someone started writing a novel I believe about a year ago so he must be doing one of those epic trilogy things. So erm yeah..

I would totally buy some Eve novels or books of short stories. Warcraft and Starcraft have novels. So do Warhammer, Warhammer 40k, all kinds of games.

Why must there be these books assocaited with a game ? Do people have no imagination and require others to tell you how things would go ?
Why do people need to leech off the creativity of others, why can they not think for themselves ? WHy can they not just go read a space based novel completely unrealated to Eve and be satisifed by that ?
Oh, you say WoW has novels ? Doom, has a Movie ? Sorry, I guess Eve needs them too, then, dont want to be the odd one out of the group, cant be original can we.

Actually the idea to write books about the EvE-universe is a very good one:
There for sure is a market for such books, there are for example quite some books which are about adventures in the world of warcraft (not that I read them, I read a lot of the "dragon lance"-books in my youth, which should be enough "high fantasy" for a whole lifetime :P ). The average age of a player of the community of WoW might eventually be lower than the age of the average EvE-player, but I think that not only younger people dont read that much anymore. Even I have to admit, that I read my last novel (it was about the adventures of Captain "lucky" Jack Aubrey and his friend Dr. Maturin and it was settled in the age of sails) quite some time ago.
The idea is to also trick people back into reading some more by connecting the contents of a book to something young people or people in general are interested in anyways :)
In the end a WoW-novel would just be a fantasy/adventure novel, or the EvE-novel a science fiction one...
The EvE-universe, especially with its rich player made contents, is a very nice foundation for some interesting stories - I also like quite some of the short-stories and RP-background that exists already. Maybe a compilation of the short-stories in form of a book would be a nice beginning to hit the bookstore shelves with.
In the end I for one rather like to read from a book, than from the monitor - if I have big chunks of text to read from the monitor I normaly print it first, as its much easier to read from paper in my opinion.
I of course dont know how the copyright thingie is to be dealt with, but I bet if people have good stories already they should really try to get into contact with CCP and try to eventually get their story on the market - if Blizzard thinks, that there are some bucks to be made with books, there for sure is ;)
