Although Far Cry had considerable flaws, the fact you could trek over this island seemingly at will and go the way you want, doing things how you wanted you defined the game. Compare this to a highly linear FPS such as the aforementioned Halo series where it's essentially a tunnel of arenas, no real scope. Sometimes, it's even just a set of tunnels when the developers had decided not to lie to themselves any more or something. When playing Crysis therefore, it lets you play it the way you want to. I have actually already played Crysis (i31) and the short demo we were given had a pretty simple objective, but you could see in the row of people everyone played it differently. I chose overwhelming surprise and force, stealing the jeep, ramming it into the enemy's shelter and blowing the fuel tank. Some people snuck by. Some people assassinated them one by one. Some people just went a different route altogether. The gameplay elements promise to be intelligent too. For example, your optical camo is dandy against humans, but the aliens have a shifted spectrum of vision, so your camo is useless against them. However, if you can match temperature with your surroundings they won't be able to see you even though you're in plain sight. Personally, any game where I smack someones jaw causing them to fly backwards through a car's windscreen, killing the driver is something special to me. Honestly, Halo is the ultimate example of last generation generic cookie-cutter shooting gameplay. Recent releases, such as the Orange Box shows how absurd the blind adoration of Halo is. That's my opinion, anyway. -Rag

You could play through it like CS:S one time, then go back and play it like Thief or Splinter Cell, and after that go through and play it using just your ubar kung fu. Get a decent dualcore and a mid-range dx10 and you'll play it fine w/ all the dx10 trimmings. I'm gonna use quadcore (lulz) and a top-of-the-range DX9 card and play it at Ultra-high settings, just won't get like...DX10 light rays through the trees (Can't tell the difference ) --- Latest Video : FAT- Camp

You have to keep in mind not everyone with dx9 card will have a GOOD dx9 card, (same can eb said about dx10 i suppose) Im just trying to see it from their point of view!
