Edited by: Talos Munjab on 25/10/2007 19:16:12 ok im in a ishtar which means i really really on my drones. how ever i just had to turn down this mission due to 2 things.
first i chose sentrys for the best damage type, this was only however 30km range, not really a porblem, after poping the cruisers and frigs i turned my attention to the battleships.
these were sitting at 45km which was annoying as my sentrys didnt hit them. so i thought ok ill lauch heavys. to my horror the bs¦s all stopped shooting me and attacked my heavys, barly getting them back in time i had to rethink.
so after docking and changing out the heavys for sentry drones with greater range i go back agrothem and wait for them to get close.
at 50km i lauch me sentrys and get them to shoot, these guys em with a range of 55km.
and WEEEE, the battleships run away to a range of 88km
again trying to lauch flying drones just got them shot at. ofc the battleships couldnt hit me at that range. i also realised fitting a ab wasnt a option as the shot down the flying drones fast and if i stopped to use sentrys they would just run away again.
anyone else noticed this annoying behaviour?
edited for typos

The ships who run away on the first stage of WC will eventually run so far away that they instantly warp back to their spawning point. It is at this point where you can kill them.
Good luck.

If you are using drones as your main damage then you will have problem in second stage. In gurista - serpentis version it's advisable to take serpentis path (it's a bit easier) - on warp in you will get agressed by 3 battleships, 4 battlecruisers some 4 or so serpentis frigates and 2 angel spies. If any other entity than the one they are agressed on (ie. you) shoots them you will get full stage agro (ie if your drones or gangmate shoot them) so you would need to keep your drones (and gangmates) on very short leash or even use just guns to kill those angel spies.

I've run WC in a domi many many times. Just don't let your drones aggro the spies and you'll be fine. Set up a queue of locked targets, and once your drones start firing on an NPC, right-click drones in local space and have your mouse cursor hovering over engage target. The very instant your drones blow up the npc, click engage target to sic them on the next target.
In the absence of lag, this tactic will ensure your drones do not aggro the spies.
Needless to say, running WC in a drone boat in Motsu or a similarly laggy system is not a good idea.

I run that in my phoon with medium II's for taking out all the small (frig-cruzer) with 1 augmentor installed to get more range on them while 3 1200's and 4 cruz launchers smoke out the BS's no matter what range they wana run out to the 1200's can reach out to well over 100km still doing 500+ per hit 88km still get decent wreckings and the cruz missles well they can't run from them. but for the most part I use valk II drones and they handle bussiness moderately well I can use sentrys but I hate them mainly cuz I like cruzing around at 430+ with the AB on and I dont like having to go pick them up :(

There, fixed that for ya.
I tried missions in a domi for a while (with Drone Interfacing V and Ogre IIs). It sucked. Raven is easy mode - though active tanking in a busy system is scary. You might find Rachen in Vengeance easier, but that's pretty much it. --

Already answered to that in another thread, but in the first stage of WC lvl 4 (serp/gu for me) the serp ships approach you, then when they are 30-40km far from their spawning spot, they stop shooting, reset agro and go back to the spawn .. so heavy drones are dangerous here, unless you go near the bs .. Use bouncers to snipe, with good drone skills it will be ok, a bit long but at least it won't be as problematic

I find domi mission running pretty damn easy, especially with sentries. Aggro management is really only a problem the first time you run a new mission... it's very easy to adapt to the missions with experience. I've never lost a domi in a mission, and I've got my l4 Blockade time down to about 25 minutes.
With the upcoming torp nerf, I honestly don't think the Raven is going to beat the Domi by that much in terms of isk/hour potential, especially when you factor in,
A: The domi doesn't require ammo, and
B: You can fit salvagers/tractors on the domi, allowing you to blitz missions for lp while still coming away with some loot and salvage.

For serpentis, use a Domi and wardens. Engage at 40-50km. dual 250mm rails.
I suspect part of your problem may be that you don't have any agressive weapons on your ishtar which will likely mean the agro behaviour of the NPCs change. Suggest you fit at least one gun.

I *sometimes* find that this tactic works:
1. Kill off any agro from Frigs/Dessies/Cruisers 2. Launch 1 light drone (optional: target it ready for remote repping) 3. Send light to attack a BS. 4. Bring back to orbit as soon as it has engaged. (opt: rep it if needed) 5. Launch 4 heavies (use groups!) 6. Spank BS with heavies.
I've found that the BSs will often tirelessly try to kill your single (tiny!) light drone and can't. I've even gone up close to get blasters on em too...works fine. This also mean you're not even tanking damage. Even if they do decide to switch to you, you've bought some time, gotten in close and should be doing BBQ damage. If they target a heavy, get em all back, re-engage with the light, rinse, repeat.

Yeah, the Worlds Collide mission used to such a nice mission, but now it's just another addition to the "waste of time" list. The 2-3 nerfs what the mission has received, have pretty much done a thorough job.

Just a quick tip or two for anyone who wishes to do the gurista or serpentis parts and beyond,
Main tip:
On serpentis and gurista rooms, there is a type of frig in each room that looks outta place (I know angel spys are in one of the rooms, think berserkers are in the other), anyway DO NOT SHOOT THEM UNTIL YOU ARE DOWN TO YOUR LAST GROUP OF RATS. If your drones drop a single shot on them or u rely on f.o.f missiles and u accidentally hit one, then all i can say is for your sake, i hope you are pointed towards a warp-out-point. Yes, they aggress everything and you will be toast.
I would recommend cruise missiles rather than torps as you do more damage per second on the HAC's than when using torps and they are rather nasty little critters.
Basically, kill the front rooms with the pith and core ships, dock, cleanup.
Go to serpentis room, complete it, dock, cleanup. Go to gurista room, repeat as per serpentis (same strategy).
When u come back to the last room, (check the serpentis room for an officer spawn as he takes a while to show up) head on to last room.its quite easy, just kill everything that aggresses u, then take out the last group. Grab ur hostages and dock. If the officer spawn hasn't shown in the serpentis room, on your way back to the last room for the cleanup, go check the gurista room. Your officer spawn may be in there instead.
Hope this helps.

I'm flying an Ishtar too, and WC is my favorite mission, because: 1) Use zbikobi's hacker card to pass 1st gate (i use guristas), no need to kill anything here. You should have a lot of them from Zor. 2) In 2nd pocket gates aren't locked, so again don't shoot anything just try to reach the gates asap (not a problem in Ishtar). If you find yourself webbed just kill webber frigs with your drones except guristas spies. 2) In 3d pocket just wait a little, then kill anything that aggroed you with drones. The other group doesn't care really even when my ogres bump them :) And thats all, 10-15 minutes, nice reward, great LP. I find it more profitable than killing everything for bountes and waste time catching overseer. As someone mentioned above drone boats are not perfect for missions, so try to blitz missions where it is possible and leave "total clearance" tactic for ravens.
