I mentioned this a long time ago but it was never fixed, I know, it's not important but visually it annoys me.
Basically Caldari ships were designed to have more turrets than they currently do (look at Caldari police ships and gurista bships) but when CCP changed the Scorpion/Raven to being only 4 turret ships they didn't change the turret placements on the ships at all.
When you put 2 turrets on a Raven, you get 2 on the one wing and 2 on the belly, it just looks dumb. It should be like 2 on each wing or 1 on each wing and 2 on the belly (one left, one right).
This is a very very easy fix and would probably take someone at CCP 5 minutes max to change, so could we get it changed? ------

Well, that placement is to allow for maximum coverage. What DOESN'T make sense is like how on the scorp you have 4 places for turrets, with 4 turrets on the scorp 2 wings have 3 turrets, and the other 2 wings have 1, in awkward positioning... that could be fixed (same for raven.) |

Maximum coverage forwith 2 turrets on a Raven would be 1 on each wing, and 1 on each side of the belly.
For the Scorpion, turret 1 would be right wing / tail, turret 2 left wing / tail, and repeat turret 3 4 same way. ------

er, that doesn't work, because then one turret has coverage that the other doesn't, where right now, both turrets have 100% coverage. |

The easyist way to fix it is to give them back their missing turrets Mostly harmless |

the MegaThron has the same prob. i really don't like where they placed the turret hard points in the front-sides of the ship and back-sides of ship. there not evenly positioned right IMO it looks really lame plz fix ------------------------------------------------ A Plague is comming.... |

i dont think that it simply works that way, i mean the tempest has 2 guns mounted on the outside of the ship for every 1 that you fit. i think the area that they turret itself can fire at influences the number needed.

Jim, what do u want to have fixed first ?
Eye candy or Caldari ships / Railguns / Missiles.
U know they already have a hard time with everything u ( rightfully ) request, give them a break :), U know they dont prioritize eye candy.

Just for clarification, I'm happy with hybrids, they're possibly the best weapons in the game right now, it's just the Caldari bonus blows.
I'm really not unhappy with missiles either.. it's just Caldari ships have no bonus for them (cept Raven of course) and they blow at long range, and cost too much.. other than that they're ok.
The turret arrangement on the Raven and Scorpion has bugged me forever though. :) ------

Yep turret arrangement can be quite ammusing at times. Look at the Apoc, with all turrets firing ahead you would blow the front 6 guns off . Also at certain ranges directly infront, behind, above or bellow they have to fire through the ship to maintain 100% coverage. The Apoc looks nice as a ship of the line for giving full broadsides (which I expect was the design idea) but it's gun layout is a bit daft for anything else
This applies to a great many other ships as well though the Apoc is the one that sticks in my mind

I've noticed that the turret placement is based on where you put the turrets in the fitting screen. I've also noticed that that seems to flip flop when you undock. So you need to fit your guns then undock and see where they are then dock again to move them to a place that is visually pleasing to you. Or just do what I do and put your guns in a location that will make them end up on an F-key that is easily accessable.
Also, you're not going to be able to get a symetrical look ever because the way the turrets mount on all ships. For each turret you mount there is one turret on the top left and one on the bottom right or vice versa. An example would be: you will never have turrets only on top of the wings because if you needed to shoot down there would be no turret on the underside of the ship. ----------------------------------------- Sig rented by Drethen Nerevitas. |

I must be blind.
I never noticed turrets appearing and disappearing depending on what you have mounted???
I thought they were the same visually no matter if you had 0 or 8 turrets mounted?

They're like that in station... when you undock, their positions reset. |
