Edited by: Shadarle on 26/10/2007 18:08:34 Considering I never use either RESX or EGSEx I am no expert on this stuff.. but why is this all of a sudden a concern?
I personally don't know Balogh/Labogh, but he did form this up and people are investing in him are they not?
I hardly see 56 billion as a massive red flag that would immediately make me think he might run with it. I mean, sure it is a lot of money... but it's not 100's of billions no one knew he had or anything. Is having 56 billion that different than 30 or 40 billion for example?
I just don't fully understand why this post was made. Couldn't the same kind of post be made about Nyphur, Ricdic, yourself, and lots of other people?

Originally by: FastLearner There are quite a few individuals currently controlling (or having access to) more than 56 billion in public funds. I'm not sure why RESX is particularly worthy of attention or criticism on that score.
This is what I am wondering as well.

Originally by: Motivated Prophet It was certainly not intended as FUD, and I apologize if it came across that way.
It most definitely did come across that way.
And honestly it still does as your newest explanation for the post still doesn't seem to hold much water. People use his service so they obviously trust him enough to use it. Why it is your job to question his trustworthiness out of the blue like this?
He has grown his business over time and obviously people find it useful. If it didn't grow then it would be a failure or a waste of time. So basically you're finding fault because he is successful.
If you wanted to raise this as a general topic, how much should we trust into people, fine. But this came off as a blatant attack on someone for no reason. How can anyone gain trust with the community if they are never allowed to work with more and more money? The longer he responsibly handles the communities money the more trust he builds. He has done nothing to make you question the trust in him, has he?

I can't believe you still feel like your OP was justified. There were so many better ways to go about this... and it seems like every person is saying that.
The fact that the topic of your attack did not respond heatedly is only a credit to him and shows his character.
And if you really cared if we knew why you were so angry lately then you'd make sure we knew who your main was. But telling us "if we knew" and then not telling us is just a waste of time.

This could not have been and was not becoming a good thread. It was an attack thread on someone who did nothing to deserve it. Starting from there it isn't possible this was going to turn out well.

I am curious, did someone actually do this? Did I miss out on something?

again, i was using it as an example of MP is not a self-appointed watchdog.
Ummm... OK? I don't see how that had anything to do with MP... but OK...

MP doesn't have a history on this forum of going "hey, this doesn't seem right". some of us point out a lot of things that don't seem right, and not only when we have an obvious bias to do someone harm.
OK, I take your meaning now. But even so it was a bit of a stretch initially as you did not make clear the reason you brought up emfi (especially since you didn't actually name it).
Your point is that if someone who had called out a lot of other people/IPO's in the past for questionable things had brought this up it would have been received differently. Rather than someone who is in effect a competitor with RESx and doesn't have such an established history of being a watchdog.
Assuming that is a correct paraphrasing of your point then I would agree.

This thread would indeed be over if MP didn't keep posting in it. But he has made the title "Lock Me" and he continues posting in it, which would seem to imply he doesn't actually think the thread should end yet.

I'm curious. If Ezoran does indeed have shares then are you denying to share your main with him?
Perhaps he shouldn't have been open and ask publicly and he should have just sent an eve-mail in a week asking?
Just curious on what exactly your disclosure policy is. Assuming he is a shareholder and you won't give the name out to him... then what are the other restrictions on your releasing of the name in addition to having to have shares?

i didn't see where "don't reveal my main" was part of what was posted above. i think i read "would hope you don't reveal it" or something.
i could've misread it. but yeah, i would definitely reveal it, ESPECIALLY if it were iss or a corp i like to mock.
Well, I can understand why he wouldn't reveal it to you. But it would make me question on what grounds he doesn't reveal it, considering he hadn't made past restrictions other than owning shares (as far as I know). Perhaps he has indeed said it is still up to his discretion, in which case he of course has no obligation to tell you and would definitely not tell you since you obviously want to make it public.
I just think he should be following any rules he stated in his IPO, if that gives him permission to tell you where to go then that's fine but if it says he has to give it out then I don't see how he can say no.

Just as a side note, the best way to maintain two identities on a forum is to have conversations with yourself... and better yet to have arguments with yourself. To take it to the next level and make it easier on yourself, having a feud with yourself is dual-identity gold.
You can all get back to this ongoing thread now
