Originally by: MarianaMM Ok! I could not see the overprice window, again it was not my fault.
The point here is complain about how CCP will deal with it. That Customer Service s..s on you about lag.
Now I am training Trade to level 5 and selling several overprice items.
Lag is not petitionable.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

Edited by: Cadela Fria on 26/10/2007 23:15:27 So now CCP are responsible for what keys you press on your keyboard? Interesting..lag, or no lag, you were the one who pressed enter. If you didn't have the foresight to predict what that would cause, then I feel no sympathy..."enter" != "clear up lag".
If you must know "Enter" == "Confirmation".
I wonder whats next, blaming CCP for hotwiring your GFX card to clear up lag, thus your GFX card frying.

Originally by: MarianaMM Again, I just need the overprice window, that did not show up...
that is your mistake right there...
in the buy order window, it clearly shows the price and relative percent compared to market average. plus you were fully able to compare that price with other sell orders in the market listing.
that popup window is a fail safe, last resort "just in case you are dumb enough to buy this" verification, and if you actually depend on that to keep from making stupid purchases...
if you are too impatient to even read the price you are going to pay for something, you obviously got what you deserved. and especially with such a large purchase, not even shopping around, let alone checking the price tag...
~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |
Edited by: MarianaMM on 26/10/2007 23:19:38 btw, if was BoB or MC that lost ships due to lag, I read that CCP reimburs it.
Then you read wrong. I certainly haven't had any ships replaced (yet).
Secondly, losing a ship in combat is (mostly anyway) involuntary, whereas you mashing your enter key, is quite voluntary. So you can't compare it.
I recycled a load of junk modules and was surpised to find morphite in my hanger. I can blame nobody but myself for this stupidity.
B.T.W. Did you also buy magic beans while in Jita?
My original sig was 'Enjoy lag free play in a dynamic space MMORPG'. It was removed for lack of EVE content! ;) |
That's because they more important than you
BTW. I lost my Ishkur when I attacked a Huginn... I'm gonna petition it till I get my ishkur back and they give me that guy's huginn too....
You don't have to feel too stupid though... I've bought a 9m isk shuttle before....
Well, I didn't petition it because I was stupid.. you should feel totally embarassed about coming in here and *****ing, honestly I can't figure out what you were thinking
They don't exist. CCP roll a dice and if a 6 comes up you get reimbursed. Of course its a D20 thats getting rolled....
Its supposed to be a result of 1 to 6 gives you a reimbursement, but due to a bug its only on a 6. CCP said its an urgent problem, so it will get fixed after the trivial problems with drone control (e.t.a. Early November 2107).
Tbh I think there probably many who have been caught out by similar problems. I know I have many times. I have a tendency when intending to type three zeroes, to hit enter on the numeric keypad three times. Has cost me a lot of money selling things!
I consider it poor design. The default option for æAre You sure You Want to be StupidÆ should not be æYESÆ.
Another annoying one that catches me out on occasions is when selling stuff I see items on the market below mineral cost. Right click the item to buy, and then press return. Unfortunately the return is accepted by the sell dialogue below the buy one, and once again I have lost isk.
Unfortunately there are many people happy to take advantage of this poor design as well as others mistakes/stupidity. This is why you see so many absurdly high sell prices and low buy prices.
It's funny you mention it, cause I never had anything like this happen to me..ever. If you want to be sure you aren't doing something really stupid, there is absolute NOTHING emberassing about counting zeros, or whatever number, with your finger pointed at your monitor when you have to make a purchase.
It might look stupid, but hey, nobody can see you anyway, and your wife/husband has probably seen or heard you do dumber things then that.
Same thing goes for when you're selling something. I will sometimes, when typing in a number of isk to transfer to someone, or to sell something, count aloud while pressing the 0 number key for the amount of zeros..say, 10 million, I go : "*press* 1 *press* 2 *press* 3 *press 4 *press* 5 *press* 6 *press* 7 !" and then I count again just to be sure.
Again, it might look or sound stupid, but I'd rather SEEM stupid, and come out on the other end with more money, or the proper expenditure of money for an item, then seem cool and actually being a complete moron cause now im broke for buying a 1 billion battleship.
They can petition of course but it won't do them any good. If you want to put up a Contract to sell 1 unit of Tritanium for 1 billion ISK knock yourself out. If someone is dumb enough to go for it then lucky you.
Originally by: MarianaMM I will petition it until I can go any further, not because the isk, but because this is unfair, if they allow Jita exist, they should take care of it and protect honest players from it...
oh, I'm pretty sure that when they would limit the amount of players in Jita and you would have to wait 2 minutes before you can enter, you will the very first to come on the forums to whine about it ("I pay MY 15$, I'm a customer, they should allow ME in wherever I want to go to... bla bla bla).
It was your fault to click on 'Buy This' for the overpriced item in the first place anyway.
oh and... STOP GOING TO JITA
