Oh come on, let's be realistic. Nobody made any money at it, and if game and media companies went after their fans for doing something like this, there'd be no more game fans. You don't see Paramount suing Star Trek fans for wearing uniforms at conventions or making model phasers, and you don't see LucasArts going after those Stormtrooper guys who make their own uniforms, etc.
This is just a fan thing, something cool to show off. It's not going to weaken CCP's copyright over their fictional pirate organization logo image.
Now if CCP wants to make these patches and sell them, they'd make a fair bit of cash at it. I think they should.

Incorrect.
CCP do indeed own the rights to the Guristas logo, and of course everything afilliated to it, including it's representation on a third party item.
However, no profit was made from him putting the logo on the jacket, so really it wouldn't hold up in court.
If anything it's advertisement for Eve every time he drives down the street, to be honest.

Another funny thing was right after I got the patch sewn on, I swung by the grocery store to pick up some beer (it being Friday and all).
I was walking through the store in my leathers and ran into my son's principal, who's about half my height and buying bread (white), ice cream, some fruit, etc. And I'm standing there in black leathers with this giant glaring red skull with bunny ears on my back, holding a six-pack in each hand and we're just chattering away about how my son is doing in school.
I didn't think about how strange that must have looked to the other people in the store until later. :D
