Give the upcoming changes, (which I think are great) will we see an increased demand for the good named Torp launchers, or will we see them be cast into oblivion in favor of Cruise Launchers?
I have lots of variations of each sitting around currently. Wondering if I should hold onto them until my regular big sell off day, or if I should try to unload them as fast and as high as possible right now.
Speculation?

Was wondering that myself before I pulled out of trading for a while. I think you'll see a dip in prices imediately after the changes come in and then a return to similar prices over the next 2-3 months as people realised it's not really much of a nerf at all. This is exactly what happened with high-end NOS after the nerf.
Prices nosedived at first but are now back to decent levels. Smart buying and selling during that perios can make you a ton of cash

I can't really see torps going back to their old state where they are used a lot again. With the varied changes resulting in far less damage vs small or fast ships, and their inability to fit FOF's (especially now that mission rats can use EW) means that I believe torps are done for.
The occasional hardcore solo pirate (tiller, Tank ceo) will likely still run those gank fits, but the changes also mean that long range cannot be used.
I dunno, unless we see torp dmg hits on unresisted hulls closer to 1000-1100 I don't see any reason to ever use torp over cruise again.

I'm wondering if we will see them thrown out more in PvP though, with Ravens beside Megathrons and other short range, high damage ships.

Sell before patch hits. If you are lucky you can get semidecent price for them still from people who don't read forums.
And on same subject I'm willing to trade 7 navy siege launchers for 7 navy cruise launchers (giving sieges, getting cruisers to be clear). Should anyone happen to be interested drop me an evemail.
As pointed out above me it seems that sieges will be rather useless for PvE. On the other hand if you are not talking about faction but about just named stuff (like arbalest) it's likely that their price will rise from current rather low numbers when PvP people start using them slightly more.

Thats the problem. A lot more EW has come into this game over the past year. What was once a tactic only used on rare occasions or fleet battles, you now find EW/target jamming/sensor dampening very often (almost always). A raven with torps is dead in the water when it comes up against that setup 99% of the time.
If it has cruise, it can get the FoF's out and spam them to eventually get a lock when ie a small EW ship gets popped.
With other ships they are also vulnerable to EW etc just as much as the raven, but they also have more powerful secondary systems (namely drones). From memory all non-caldari ships have better drone compliments.
Either way it's not about which ship is better, it's about questioning why people would believe a torpedo is worth more now that it can deal 1000 dmg per torp. Sure, sounds great but then feel those drawbacks (sig rad, velocity, ew, ecm, td, low dps on drones).
If you want to do 1000 dmg per torp fired, you should be prepared to accept that if you come up against an EW ship or a group with one in it, that you may as well say goodbye to your Raven. 1000 damage per torp sounds very nice, but when you get jammed it will be 0 damage per torp. Can go for the high risk high reward torp option, or you can go for the safe option (med dmg with security) of cruise.

Yout talk about a X vs 1 Raven battle, not very likly. EW Ships dont come in solo, and so do'nt Ravens. There are ships to counter EW and therefor I am sure the new Torpedo Ravens will find its place in PvP. Many ppl love the Raven, many ppl are skilled for it, so I dont see any reson it would be underused.

Torps will be worthless in PvE, will gain use in PvP. People DON'T buy expensive stuff for PvP, they buy cost-effective stuff. Demand is not going to drop all that much if price goes low enough, but down the price will be going anyway. So, basically, yeah... sell, sell'em like there's no tomorrow. Because there isn't _
