i have just lost yet another ship to this pointless message, through no fault of my own.
But now i ask myself, what is it actually there for, and what does it mean???
Cant ccp add a time onto it or something so we actually know how long it is to avoid it (i waited a full 30 seconds before i went for the gate and still got the message).
So, citizens of eve, im sure that everyone here has lost at least one ship to this fault/bug/random thing, so sign here if you think this message needs to be addressed! lets get ccp to change this massive problem in eve!

It's there cause otherwise you'd get stuck...
And nope, never lost a ship too it.

Edited by: Reem Fairchild on 28/10/2007 21:34:33 It means you've already clicked to jump through a gate, so no need to be clicking again. I have a tendency to always doubleclick the jump button when I jump through a gate, and I get that message every single time, even when I go through the gate almost instantly.

jump through a gate, then reaproach it. sometimes you dont get it at all, and other times you have to wait ages until you can jump again.

Havnt lost any ships to it but I'll admit its frustrating, just like all the timers eve has (Especialy hate the switching ships in station timer!).
Whilst we're at it the gang timer which stops you jumping is a real pain aswel, a gang mate lost his ship last night through no fault of his own when gang leader moved him.

The message itself has nothing to do with being able to jump through a gate or not. Any time you click to jump through a gate and then click again before you're actually jumping through, you will get it.

like i said, jump through a gate, instantly reaproach it then click once. if what your saying is true, then you would get the jumping message, but instead u get the session message, and then if u wait hours you still dont jump until u press it again once it lets you.

The delay you occasionally get jumping through gates (and I've also lost ships to it at times), and the session change message aren't directly related. The reason you're getting that message when you're not able to go through a gate is because you're getting impatient and clicking the jump button several times.
Try going to a gate and then clicking the jump button several times in a row quickly. You will get that session change message even if your ship jumps through slmost instantly.

Never seen that. I've powered back to the gate and jumped through to the system I came from when jumping into bubble camps a few times. Never had a problem.
Could be some kind of delay that happens to where the servers or client still hasn't realized the session change is fully over. I can't imagine that that, in of itself, keeps you from jumping though. Any time I've had to wait for a while before a gate lets me through (once lost ship, equipment and implants worth a total of about 250 mil to it) it's been one I warped to.

then eve hates me in that case :) But seriosly ccp, something has GOT to be done to fix the problem, its just too unfair to loose a fully T2 fitted vaga and implants (my most recent one, on character red thunder if ur reading the petition ccp), when it is not your fault at all. If my ship is refunded and the same happens to everyone else who suffers this problem, then its ok :)

Many actions trigger session changes. You may not preform any action that triggers a session change within 30 seconds of a previous session change. Jumping into a system is a session change.
The most common example is people jumping into a system reapproaching the gate, and then receiving the session change message when trying to jump through. The most common solution is to hold your cloak for most of its duration.
It's an intentional mechanic and it doesn't need "fixing".
___________ I learned to accept ship changes months ago. Suddenly I enjoy Eve. You should try it some time. |

thats the problem though, i did wait 30 seconds. my logs clarify this, as i jumped 40 seconds before the first session change message. this is why its a bug.
