We've definitely changed. From Dec 1st Goonswarm will look very different. We are setting up fleet squadrons with dedicated roles and a participation incentive system (killpoints, dotpoints, reimbursement etc) to cull freeloaders. The most controversial change is probably the 15 mill SP minimum to join Goonfleet. This isn't because we don't appreciate newbies anymore, we simply don't need them. The sub-fleet corps will have the opportunity to recruit based on their own standards but in turn they will have common goals which they have to achieve in order to remain in the alliance.

We will still keep our good spirits and cameraderie, but the force projection on the battlefield will be something entirely different.

Yeah, they do. It isn't difficult at all to get into 90% of territory holding alliances (certainly the large ones) with a few months old character if you can somehow show you've an interest in pvp and learning to pvp.

Just posting a few piracy attempt killmails to a public killboard, and a nicely written eve mail is normally enough.

Most non a**hole corps will offer plenty of advice on fittings and general play tips in corp chat and on corp forums.

There's also tons of corps who specifically cater, recruit or go out their way to teach newbies.

Have you ever actually been in alliance besides Goonswarm?

Goons defence on the forums is to go into the offence with one liners. They prefer to ridicule themselves before anyone else can ridicule them. They hide behind sarcasm. Also, every single one of them posting here would be banned for live on SA.com by now for posting worthless stuff, one liners and forum ******y. they are everything the SA community despises and pick upon.

But sadly, they just don't give a damn. We best get used to them and the degradation of the EvE community into a pre puberty, annoying, repetive, stupid pile of ****. Fun, isn't it?

The thing atm, however, is that GS has so many various corps in it, it is not just goons. I've noticed that a big number of "hurt" ex carebear corps, mainly from ascn, have joined them too.

I do not agree with you that goons will disband, that is what they would like everyone to think, they'll find excuses to go after people who've "hurt" them or "made them the monsters they are".

It is pointless to generalize goons in all fairness, but TBH it might be wise if you seek to avoid members with the attitude you describe.

Being in Goonswarm does not make you required to go on any POS shooting ops. If you want hot ship on ship action look for ops titled*****fag, roaming, suicide, or newbie. Strategic only recently (since Rev 2 actually) meant POS shooting without resistance most of the time.

This is the most ridiculous most stupid attempt at hate propaganda I have ever seen. How BOB has survived with these kinds of mindless players ill never know. The enitre peice is based on unfounded analogies and feeble attempts at drawing on the most common prejudices of human kind. Goons were never persecuted to extinction. Maybe they had some bad scrapes with Dusk and Dawn but since forming up with RED, Goons have been more then welcome in the southern part of the galaxy.

After creating phantom connections between meaningless, totally false pieces of drivel, the author goes on to TRY to draw some kind of "conclusion". I have no idea why the question of whether or not Goons has a correct "self conception" of themselves (an already just plain stupid question to ask) has anything to do with their successes and those of the coalition. Its all really very simple. Goons like PVP. They have their own very uniquely Goons way of going about it. Their members love it and their allies love it. BOB, with their claims of being capable of controlling the EVE galaxy (and the will to try) have simply given Goons something to fight against. Any propaganda that tries to draw the focus from this idea with respect to the Goons is easily dismissed as exactly that. Propaganda.
