It seems to me that to have all things balanced, some modules are missing from the game. Why do we have cargo-bay expanders and no drone-bay expanders? Why do we have rate-of-fire (and damage..)mods for all types of cannons, but none for missile launchers? why can't i fire chaff or flares at incoming missiles?? Seems to me missile combat would be a lot more interesting if it was possible to disrupt the guidance systems on incoming missiles. Just like IRL.... ECM-Burst anyone?

Drone hangers are set to come into the game in Shiva i think. The idea for the drone hangers though is that you have to sacrifice cargo space to fit them. --------------------------------------------- Engineers motto; If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway. |

I remember seeing dronebay expanders on eve-db a while ago, I think they were called drone hangars or something, and you could fit them on indies. Bear in mind that this was on eve-db about 4 months ago, so might have changed.
I'm not sure about the flares/chaff idea. You have defenders already (which need a smack with the tweak-hammer) and smartbombs, which should help in regards to anti-missile defense. There is no such defense against turrets, so I think ecm/chaff would simply make missiles useless, and we can't have that. There are too many ways to avoid a missile boat already.
RoF/damage mods for missiles is a good idea though. It might stop those raven filling up with CPR's, and tanking until the end of time. .

Well i didnt know about the drone-hangars. It only seemed logical in my eyes. Think about what will happen if an indy scrambles, webs and jams you and then launches his 10 ogres at you.... wave after wave.. ...whole new levels of warfare.
current anti missile defenses all use highslots. I was thinking about using mid or lowslots for chaff dispensors or the like. These 'other' anti missile defenses should not be 100% effective. anti-missle ecm should have 'X' chance to disrupt missile targetting systems, where FoF missiles would re-acquire the lock and come again until flight time has expired. Something like that.probably a bit hard to balance, but would be more realistic in my opinion.
I personally seem to have some problems dodging missiles a lot....especially cruise missiles seem to like the tailend of my Moa a lot....

There are mid-slot turret counters. Tracking disruptors do significantly reduce the effectiveness of turrets, and anything that prevents a lock completely disables turrets (while missile launchers still function with FOF). The introduction of cruiser and BS-sized capacitance neutralizers/drainers will also provide a good turret counter. Not perfect, but neither are defenders and smartbombs.
Personally, I like the idea of chaff/flares. Some form of low-success rate missile disruption would be nice, and it might even pave the way for higher damage on missiles in the future.
