hi,
ive experienced an anoying problem, while playing with 15000-25000 ppl in the server the game works great i have no lag, fights are smooth etc.. but when i log in at "rush hours" 35000-40000 players the game gats laggy as hell, doesnt matter in which system i am. even in the stations the market etc. is laggy. in space itself the game frezzes every 10-15 sec for 4-5 seconds.
is this a known problem in EvE?

It mostly depends on where you are. Number of people in the same system as you makes far more difference than the number of people online in total. nullnull |

i dont think so, it happens even in systems below 0.4 which are not loaded with ppl.
and as i sayd i only have this problem when there 30k+ people on the server....
i dont live in the US though could this have an effect on the performance?

Well, it shouldn't. I haven't noticed any strange lag in the systems in the last few days. Thats from the EU tough, but i doubt it will make any difference. EVE even runs fine on dail-up

Common causes of a regular stutter:
Eve client problems: - Busy chat channels open, and humongous log files. (Delete them!)
Your PC problems: - Aggressive virus scanner running in the background. - Thermal shutdown of the CPU. - Sound driver compatibility (god knows why). - Windoze dualcore bug - patch available from M$ and is also applied via windoze update I think.

I suspect activity in nearby systems may be the cause. Its unlikely that CCP partition each individual system, more likely to be on a regional basis.

This thread is not actually about lag. The behavior described is stutter. They are distinctly different causes and behaviors.
The big give away for stutter is "the game freezes" or "the display freezes". Where as with lag it's "I can click on things and it's still rendering but the game is not responding".
