I am thoroughly excited about the t2 freighters. The "nerf" to the carriers capabilities have provided an open door for t2 freighters to fill. However, CCP has closed one door and opened another. The Rorqual with its boosted 40k m3 carghold with expanders and rigs makes it a much cheaper and more cost effective hauler for 0.0. This will really make the jump freighter virtually worthless.
Either boost the t2 freighters cargo some more, or reduce its costs to build, or dare I say not increase the rorqual to 40k m3 and leave the hauling to the freighters.

Who's even going to try freighter invention?
Ship invention is around 15% success rate on avg. To make a single bpc for a freighter, takes about 1 month. That means you can make 12 whole copies a year.
So, after 1 year of coping I can now do 12 attempts at invention, and if I'm super lucky after spending that 2B on datacores get a single bpc from the invention process.

I really see a role for the T2 Freighters out there!
But, and here comes the Point that Dan already picked up,

So after release of the new conent it will take around 2-3 months before we can see the first T2 Freighter out there and then only the richest of the rich people can afford one!
I am very interested in how CCP will implement the new BPO/BPC's for the new T2 Modells.
T2 Freighters look very very interesting to me but will we ever see one?
The Invention costs extremely increased in the past weeks, specially for Gallente Ships, and I dont really see anyone doing invention on Freighters because of Time and Money!

Time to make a 1-run freighter BPC: ~33.3 days. Time to make the T1 freighter to use in construction: ~7 days. Time to make a single invention attempt on a T2 freighter: unknown. How many half-billion isk (per) attempts at invention will be required for a success: unknown. Time to build a T2 freighter: unknown (no one's posted a damn picture of the build times yet).
Ultimate cost: estimated in the 8-11 billion isk range.
When we learned the freighters were going to be T2 and not Tr2: about a week and a half ago, preventing freighter BPO holders from tossing them into a copy slot then (on the off chance they didn't have every single one in production).
Launch date of Trinity: Supposedly November 16th
The EVE-wide impact of logistics carriers being neutered during a single fuel cycle on alliance-held POSes: priceless.

It's 28.8888888 days to create a freighter BPC. That's without implants. However you don't have to wait for the patch to make copies.
It's 15 days and change to build one at an NPC station. That's without implants.
Well see them less than 3 weeks after the patch.

I certainly hope that Jump Freighters become common quickly. I personally feel that they should be well established before any Carrier-hauling nerf.
Don't get me wrong: Although I think the Carrier-hauling nerf is extremely heavy-handed, I'm GLAD that I won't have to be the Allinace Delivery Truck any more.
But...honestly...I've already got a Dread fitted to haul Pos fuels for when they nerf the Carrier.

I think the important part is to make jump freighters viable and much better than carriers in the first place, before a carrier nerf happens that no one will notice (in this case).
