Edited by: Pezzle on 31/10/2007 02:46:26 For years now the CVA has labored to extend Imperial rule to Providence. The fight for Amarrian Providence began immediately upon our move to the area. In the earliest days there were wars with Softweb and other pirates infesting the region. Soon the conflict expanded with the UK. As time has passed we encouraged the growth and prosperity of the region in line with our goal. We have seen repeated attacks by TSDS and any number of pirates and rebel forces. In recent months some of the greatest steps towards consolidation have taken place. In all these years, hostile forces have been suppressed. Amarrian Providence now holds 7 outposts and an ever expanding economy. Strong friends and allies have taken root here and made significant contributions of their own. The CVA has watched with pride as others gained strength, moving on to other areas of the cluster as well. Traces of our influence can be found far and wide. Today the forces of law, order and prosperity within Amarrian Providence are more potent than ever.
There are always new threats as there is a list of those who seek revenge upon us for our success.
It has been over 30 days now since the 'aza' forces have officially declared hostilities against Providence and begun ship movements. To be honest this began before the inital announcement. When our foes began seeking experts in various fields we knew the intent. As it has been for years now with this particular force, they seek triumph over the CVA. Our suspicions proved correct in their successive announcements.
After hirelings removed a tower in low security space that may have belonged to a friendly (you may find the details covered elsewhere), they turned eyes and efforts to Providence. Strangely, the hostiles chose not to engage us or our allies directly. In fact their initial strength was applied against Slammers Republic. We considered this odd as the Slammers was the one group in Providence that the CVA had very little to do with. Both sides seemed rather content to go on without speaking much to the other. There is little point in further discourse on that well covered topic, an interested reader can find those communications should they wish. I will say this much on the subject. While our relationship with the Slammers was never a good one, they did as they wished until the end. I find fault with their decisions, but not with their stubborness. I wish their current and former membership well.
Once the Slammers surrendered we went about business we were unable to while they occupied that space. Even now Amarrian Providence sees greater security in that area thanks to the tireless efforts of CVA and friendly forces. We watched as the ENH forces, under contract, shifted to a different area. The channels were graced with further announcements. Star Fraction and 'aza' forces proclaimed further targets in Providence and were joined by Stimulus, who, suspiciously enough, picked non overlapping targets in perfect concert with the Sani Fraction war doctrine.

Edited by: Pezzle on 31/10/2007 02:46:49 This was not the only action in Amarrian Providence. On the Catch borders our friends Paxton Federation were coming into conflict with the Alliance forces lead by Band of Brothers. Multiple engagements saw heated combat with significant enough losses on both sides to merit mentioning. While the battles there have ebbed the fight in the system FSW is far from over. Even at the height of activities we have maintained patrols and destroyed hostiles threatening Amarrian Providence from one end of the region to another.
While fighting Sani Fraction forces we note they hesitate to engage us directly. Happily our friends and allies are made of stern stuff, proving capable of combat against rabble and sycophant alike. Our own forces have not been blind to the threats. Frequently we engage the enemy in concert with our friends and allies. The CVA is not in the business of flowery ramblings designed to convince others of our success, we prefer results. Still, one conflict does merit mention in that it has received so much speculation and press by our enemy.
On the 16th the law abiding forces of Amarrian Providence met the various pirate, rebel, anarch and mercenary forces of the Sani Fraction and hangers on in the system of KBP7-G.
The following is an account of ship losses between the times of 18:32 - 21:05
Providence forces account for 68 ships according to our sources (72 if you extend the engagement to 21:41). Hostile forces seem to number in the range of 60 ships. Actual pilots, accounting for reshipping and other factors, registers to 60 vs 50. Hostile forces had a 2-1 Battleship advantage according to information (13-16 vs 32). Combat was joined in great fervor, this being the largest clash to date. The result was an overwhelming victory for Providence forces.
CVA records indicate 59 enemy ships were destroyed and 26 enemies of Amarrian Providence were left to contemplate the error of their ways in the clone vats. Ten pilots of the CVA lost ships in the battle, two pods fell to enemy fire. Total friendly casualties are estimated at 22-25.
This report represents as accurately as we are able given current information, some small deviation is likely to exist. Unfortunately, over time there will be some distortion due to the nature of record keeping programming.
As always the CVA extends thanks to friends and allies in Amarrian Providence for their support in defense of the region and general security from would be marauders. Together we build something that will pass the test of time. We salute you.
Let this defeat be a lesson to the Sani Fraction and all those who wish to cause unrest in the region. You will not succeed. The good will and cooperative dedication of Amarrian Providence residents will meet you time and again. Give up this lost cause. The Sani Fraction is a path to bitterness and angry losses.

Edited by: Pezzle on 31/10/2007 02:42:48 Since that time we have seen the enemy activity in Providence dwindle significantly. The forces of Stimulus, having suffered numerous losses in unrelated battles, have moved on. The Sani Fraction forces have chosen instead the path of warfare under the eye of CONCORD, hoping to avoid our forces, occassionally venturing into Providence. While there new tactics have met with a greater measure of success in recent days, it remains to be seen if there will be a lasting impact. We do not expect this to be the last of the conflict, but if this is the best they can muster Amarrian Providence will stand strong into the forseeable future. This region is battle tested and not found wanting. We have weathered worse storms. There is nothing unusual about yet another hostile incursion.
On a personal note I took time to coalate some statistics. At the time of the initial draft there were WELL over 500 messages (I stopped counting) on a dozen topics relating to this conflict by our enemies alone. If we add in communications from friendly pilots and those unrelated to the conflict these numbers EASILY dwarf combined ship losses. That gives me the perspective needed to understand the nature of this conflict. Something to think about perhaps, the reader is free to draw their own conclusions.
Thank you for your time and attention during this unusually long communication. And of course, as always.

You keep talking of this "Amarrian Providence". Where is it? The only people who have ever controlled Providece are the Ushra'Khan (its rightful owners) and CVA - psychotic, genocidal usurpers. The Amarr Empire has never had jurisdiction over that region. ----- Mixed Metaphor is now recruiting! Contact me for details. |

This has little to do with the continuing realization of an Amarrian Providence. You know that, of course, but so far the only recourse for detractors of the CVA's service to the Empire is technicality and semantics.
The CVA is content with this.

Although Kazuma has placed a disclaimer in his reply that what he has said does not reflect the Ebon Seraph, nor the Dark Seraph, I would like to thank him for taking the initiative in putting forth words of encouragement.
I would also like to Echo his words, despite the current relations between the Seraph Orders, and the CVA, we do appreciate what you are doing, and wish you continued success in that endeavor.
Especially to you Pezzle. Thank you.

CVA's actions in Providence merit an incredible thankyou to them and their allies. The governship and protection of this region by CVA has allowed many coming from Domain or Tash-Murkon to set up their industrial enterprises successfully, train their combat pilots, and even safely form new alliances and get a firm pair of feet set down on the trials of living in lawless space - though providence is hardly lawless anymore.
Congratulations CVA, and once again, thankyou. The ISK sitting in my pockets jingles happily in your direction. ------

An interesting account that gives some insight into the point-of-view of our foes. It contains material that is debateable and the 'Sani Fraction' label is misleading but I see no profit in dwelling on such flaws. Overall, to see a coherent account from the opposing viewpoint is useful and welcome.
In any event, the Star Fraction will continue with its activities in Providence and surrounding regions, so I very much look forward to more such reports in future months.
