CCP removed the names on corpse's
Put names back on corpses, many other people besides myself like to collect peoples corpse's/trade.
simple fix
put the names back on the corpse when you click show info. |

When you put it in your hangar, it still says "Blah blah's frozen corpse" when you show info, correct ?
But if you drag it to chat, or trade, or contract, the show info just says "frozen corpse", correct ?
Hmm.
As for why, I suspect it may be eventually something to do with DUST, and making the DUST clones out of reprocessed corpses or something. |

Agreed. If it's not broke don't fix it. CCP please learn this. Patches and expansions should be aimed at fixing and improving the game for veterans while making the game more attractive and accessible to newer players. This change did none of that.

I was about to open a new thread but the Search engine came up with this one, and it's actual enough.
Was it ever discussed by CCP? Do we know why on Earth they turned precious corpses into worthless items? I don't think that corpse names should be to stressing for the system, seeing as ships get named and renamed by thousands every day without CCP doing anything about it.
I only discovered this yesterday, after taking the body of a clumsy moron that never stops babbling in Local...only to find out I can't link him HIS corpse.
Also, my collection of corpses in Jita is now worth zero. Some of them were acquired after good fights and there were anecdotes related to many of them.
ALL THOSE MOMENTS WILL BE LOST, LIKE TEARS IN RAIN, FFS CCP! |

Could you imagine what the famous Guiding Hand Social Club heist would have been without a named corpse to tell the tale?
Did CCP realize that AMAZING player-driven storytelling has been completely annihilated by this?
No more paying/getting money for hits with the named corpse as the proof. KMs aren't the same as delivering THE BODY!
No more corpse collecting to remember your epic battles.
No more stories like that Capsuleer Space Graveyard.
No more knowing you have the real, ultimate proof of your ENEMY's demise on your cargo/station after a good, dirty fight.
No more trading of named corpses. There was a real market for this, with famous capsuleers being worth more than commoners.
At the very least, I would like to hear a convincing explanation from CCP. I don't doubt it's justified (although CCP does fix what is not broken, occasionally), but so far I haven't heard or read WHY.
This just made EvE a little bit less interesting and a little bit more bland. |

From my research it appears this change was made (whether intentionally or not, I am not aware) in Crucible patch 1.1.

I propose that the Corpses should have the name of the person killed as part of the item name, so that collectors can more easily sort their collection of corpses without taking ages to comb through a container full of items named "Corpse."

Even though i have a page-1 post in support...
I will point out that before they were removed, there was an increasing trend of people creating characters with real-world names (such as bin-laden, justin beiber, and other celebrities people probably have hate for) and repeatedly suiciding them to sell the corpse in jita local for isk.
If that continued, and was something that external gaming-news sources, it could mean very, very bad press for CCP (who usually only has good press).

confirming you cant even sell corpses trough contracts, as when you make a contract the names disapear, funny that you need to use 3rd parties to safly sell corpses :lol:
