As many others have said, the teenage attitude of 'f*ck the world' is what drives much of this. You won't change them... they will however eventually ironically change themselves-as much as they'll deny it.
It costs nothing to be civil.
Stop denigrating civilized society and supporting terrorism by being stupid on forums guys! You have NO IDEA that MEN AND WOMEN GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR YOUR RIGHTS TO BE DOUCHEBAGS ON FORUMS WITH IMPUNITY and therefore you should NEVER BEHAVE SO RUDELY.

Freedom of speech is not a license to say whatever you want to anyone. You cant yell "fire" in a crowded public venue, incite people to riots, threaten to kill someone, give away government secrets and so on. Nor does freedom of speech grant you immunity to repercussions of that speech.
