Dude, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you've got Paris Hilton coming your way too. She postponed her plans currently but she's announced she'll be down there early next year to help all the poor souls.

When a large percentage of the United States population stop sticking a flag in India, Japan, New Zealand, China, Mongolia, Vietnam or Korea when they're asked to identify Iraq on a world map, perhaps I'll start to take their claims more seriously.
Every country has it's fair share of dumbasses... sadly the United States has one at the helm who cares more about blowing **** up than the education and wellbeing of his "fellow Americans"

And because of that, women in Iraq and Afganistan can go to school, have jobs and vote. |

If you walk into an R&D department in the states you'll see many marvels that will never hit the market because it's not yes feasible to the American consumer. The Japanese are a bit more quirky about their technology while we're more pragmatic.
If America is so stupid and technologically backward - why are so many foreigners paying so much money to attend every college in the US? Its medical, engineering, social, everything. |

Eh? When did I say we were backwards? I was talking about the obvious visible differences in our market places. If you go through a Japanese Tech Store, it will be vastly different than an American Technology Store. If one were to make a shallow inspection one might say Japan is far more advanced than we are. I was just trying to say that we're more pragmatic about our products than in Japan. It's a cultural difference not a technological one.

What % of the UK knows where Nevada is on a Map? Heck I bet most Americans can't point out Nevada on a Map. But knowledge of Geography isn't hand and hand with idiocy.
Edit: When I say Map, I mean a map without titles of course :).

Think it was sometime in the late 80's before the eastren block countries got there independence and the soviet union still exsisted in its geographical form that a survey was done in the united states with a globe with no names asking 2000 Americans to point out there country.
Over 1500 got it wrong..
over 1200 pointed to the Formor soviet Union..
When asked why they chose that country 75% stated "it's the biggest"
Problem with the USA is not that there stupid, its the fact there education system sucks beyond belief and while People in Europe are learning about the industrial revolution and Napoleoon and the fall of the roman empire ect, the Kids in American schools are learning all about the good old USA and nothing much more. Its not until later grades/levels in School where they actually get to learn about history and geographing outside the USA.

No. When I was in public school, we went through all of European history. In fast, I remember having to learn the specific timelines of English kings and the French revolution, that was before 7th grade.
Its too easy to find any group of stupid people in a nation thats is so large. And, why should kids in the USA need to learn much about Europe? How many kids in Europe studied the political history of the mid west USA? An area say, half the size of Europe? How many studied the Whiskey Rebellion? Without which, the popularity of General Washington would not have happened. That popularity which led him to lead the American Revolution? |

well most of the time it gave you a percentile that you were grouped in...
I think it was pretty standard among me and my friends to be above the 80th percentile

OK I'm not sure whether this is true or not but I picked it up off a news site. Not sure how you test the IQ of a dog either but hey...
Apparently the Spanish Army doesn't like using Alsatians because they're pretty dumb compared to other breeds with an IQ of 68. The average IQ in the UK is around 98 apparently. Which is why I'm in a permanent rage when I'm out and about.
Everyone has a blonde or senior moment from time to time and people are good at different things. But the level of stupidity and the ego some people have when they're as thick as mince irritates the hell out of me. Ignorance truly is bliss. The UK is living experiment which disproves the theory 'survival of the fittest'. We've proven that a technologically advanced modern society can destroy evolution. Mankind can degenerate mentally to the lowest level imaginable and still live a decent lifestyle.
So when you see the skinhead down the park on your day off walking his dog, you now know who's in charge.
