I have a plan to train my alt char to caldari and for a drake and then raven.
I am currently doing missions in a abaddon with my other char, but i want to have two options and raven seems to be the best mission ship.
What i wonder is, how is the raven tanking with all shield skills at 4, cap skills at 5. I prefer to fly a ship with heavy tank and pretty mutch semi-afk missions. That works greate with the abaddon that have a mean tank.
I am first taking the tanking skills to top, then going for the missile skills and will do missions with both accounts until i have skills to manage alone with the raven.

The thing that makes people fly the raven is its damage, not its tank. A full t2 raven (no faction mods) with a standard setup has an acceptable tank, but by no means uber.
A full t2 drake will field a much tougher tank.
However, if tanking is a greater issue than damage for you, dropping the bcu's on the raven for pdu's and damage control will give you a very good tank.
That said, a a gist booster will multiply your tanking ability by 2, which makes it insane, at a huge isk cost though.
Make no mistake though; The package that the raven is, is at least ten times better than the abaddon, you will not regret the choice.

Well I do fly a Raven for missions and I fit in Arbalest cruisemissile launchers, I can easy train for T2 versions but honestly I don't see the point in using T2 launchers with T1 ammo.
So far I have had no problems tanking most rats on missions maybe with exception of Mercenary commanders (those pesky caracal ships) deal such a difficult damagetype for me to take.
But at that case I warp out abit a few times after taking out some I can hold the tank.
In low I do have two of these missile weapon upgrades... that I don't remember name for right now, and I do have a T2 tank (shieldbooster, amplifier and shield hardners).
Have been playing with the tought about passive tanking the ship, it will not have the same amount of tank but if I figured out the difference it is less than 8-10% lower than with a active tank.
