This should save us all some typing :-
This whine is because I
[ ] was carrying xxxxxx trillion isk in a hauler through BoB Space
[ ] stopped training a skill x minutes ago
[ ] had xxx Ogre 2's deployed
[ ] was just finishing a level x mission
[ ] had xx minutes till I gained sovereignty of the whole of EVE
when the server crashed.
I demand CCP refunds me xxxxxx isk and replaces my rigged T2 fitted Command Ship / Carrier / Dreadnought.
ps Also, give all my stuff to Westie.

Only been playing eve for a couple months. Before eve I played Final Fantasy XI. And let me tell you, in FFXI if servers went down and you died killing an npc your out of luck. Not to mention patches take from 8-15 hours of downtime. And when the servers come back up the congestion is huge. But I guess thats why they have an "F" from the BBB. I will take a little downtime over that any day :P

Our momentarily definitions differ, here's the one I use:
mo+men+tar+i+ly (mmn-tGr-l)
adv.
1. For a moment or an instant.
2. Usage Problem In a moment; very soon.
3. Moment by moment; progressively.
I would use "several hours" in the future as it is vague enough to give you the time you actually need to fix anything.

aye, and if tehy state it will be 'several hours' till things are working, everyone will hail them as saviours of the day when everything is up and running in just one hour. also known as the Scotty-effect.

Its not only that the server crashed, my client also crashed so badly that the JIT-Debugger wanted to start and Windows wanted to send a nice mail...
