The 'lament of the pilgrim' is well recorded elsewhere on the forums here, and has been for some time.
The issues raised have led to, in broad terms, confusion over its role. Whilst each races force recon are quite capable ships for their class, supporting gang combat with their unique abilities at range the pilgrim has to rely upon close range combat.
Recent game changes however have called into question if the pilgrim is able to perform effectively in this manner. Specifically the changes to:
Nosferatu (on TQ). Tracking disruptors (under testing on SISI).
Can I ask (no ranting here) if you have any plans to change the Pilgrim as it stands? If not what function do you believe the Pilgrim fufills that cannot be achieved by another ship of the same class?
Thanks in advance.
C.
If others wish to post, please stay on topic. This is (hopefully) a polite request to CCP for more information.

Its important to note here that that Pilgrim's 'brand' of EW is Nos and Nuet. This uses our high slots, which no other recon has to worry about.
Previous to this, our offense has been drone based, and the changes to drones will be felt by Pilgrim and Curse pilots.
Those are things to keep in mind. I agree with Cailais, and would be eager to hear if this ship has something in its future. A confluence of game balance changes to Nos, EW, Drones and speed tank stacking have all hit this ship.

the current state of amarr seems to be quite unsure and the khanid changes were interesting but held little benefit to the t-1 versions
it seems ccp has painted the amarr into a corner .
though they do have capable ships they seem to be outclassed in almost every area by the other races equivalent couterparts .
it's like rock-paper-scissors and amarr are always paper signature removed - please email us to find out why (include a link to the image URL) - Jacques([email protected])
why dont you just tell me ? |

I see the amarr more as rock the gallente as scissors minmatar as paper (caldari are a sort of combination of rock and scissors)

The 'amarr question' is well covered elsewhere - specifically Im refering to the pilgrim, can I ask we stay on topic in that respect.
Thanks.

It's been said again and again and again.
Whilst Caldari (Falcon), Minmatar (Rapier) and Gallente (Arazu) Force Recons are all capable ships in a gang, combing their covert scouting abilities with the ability to bring some serious ( nerfing aside ) EWAR capabilities to a fight, there is NOTHING a Pilgrim can do in a gang that a Curse cant do 40% per level of Recons better.
It's that flaw that needs to be addressed.

The thing with the Pilgrim is...it actually perform less 'efficiently' than BS that fit neuts/nos in their utility slots.
Same can be somewhat said about Falcon/Rook comparison to Scorp, but a faster locktime is a pretty big advantage in EWar so I wouldn't discuss that here.
Now that neuts are directly tied into how much cap your ship have, and nos aren't quite...useful as they have been, what exactly is the reason to fly pilgrim in gang instead of a BS? --- Izanagi Alliance

bump.
Asked CCP Mindstar (iirc), if he could pass the word on for at least a dev to pop in one one of these threads and give the pilgrim community some acknowldgement that they've seen the threads.
Hell, even a, "we're looking into some changes for the pilgrim" or a, "you guys are dumbasses, it works fine" would be better than complete silence.
as such, I see no responses to any of the numerous threads. I guess the eos is more important.

The pilgrim really needs help, this is coming from a gallente pilot by the way.
The pilgrim was a balanced ship before the side effects of fixes designed to rebalance other ships pushed it under.
These include: Nosferatu rebalance. Drone bandwidth. Drone shield regen bug fix. Addition of scripts and reduction of tracking disruptor's effectiveness.
The end result is a ship which has a difficult time defeating a t1 cruiser in similar grade fittings and no role in a gang.

Edited by: Grytok on 09/11/2007 08:14:25 Most thing that saddens me is, that we really try to make good threads about this issue like this one here, but CCP just ignores it, while commenting in the gazillion of Eos-Thrads.
A simple comment, that you're looking into the issue, would be really appreciated CCP

Well, CCP Nozh is stating that making the Eos dronebay smaller is a boost to the ship.
So in all honesty, would you rly want this guy to 'fix' your recon, huh? Am I forced to have any regret? I've become the lie, beautiful and free In my righteous own mind I adore and preach the insanity you gave to me |
