I think its time for a petition CCP to name a system after you for being the first ever pilot to visit every system in eve (in written reccords, those crazy jovians might have done it too )
well done

I dunno. I think that might be a little bit pretentious. Besides. I haven't visited everywhere yet. Just 0.0 Empire is a test of my endurance more than anything else.

Well. I thought it would be boring. However there's boring and then there's boring. Genesis took me a lot of game time to get through. Not because it's a huge and tangled mess of systems that I couldn't navigate through efficiently, though that contributed. I spent at least an hour, probably 2, hanging around in New Eden enjoying the pretty colours and trying to go further than anyone else had.
Did you know there are invisible walls in space that you can't see past? Just as you think you've gone further than the rest there's another "room" full of cans that weren't there a moment ago. I'll go back there one day with an inty and travel 10km/s instead of 2
I'd include the notes but Tranq is being cantankerous and won't start on time.

Perhaps instead of a system they could name a ship after you.
Jeran class exploration ship has a nice ring to it.

i have to say I have been following your post a long while. I think its awesome you are doing it. I actually keep looking at my own "systems ive visited" function from time to time now after seeing this.
keep it up. CCP seems to be attempting more player interaction with themselves... maybe they will give you a plug on the concord billboards hehe -sig-

Hi m8,
Nice thread indeed, EVE seems to be the only mmog where travel still really means something. Anyhow, I happened to read earlier in the thread that you wondered about the named systems in CURSE region. Thats the home constellation of the Angels, read all about it here.
Background story for Angels
Thanks for sharing your travels :-)

Wow. It's been a week since I went travelling. A corp-mate was alone in 0.0 doing some solo gas mining and asked for help. I was only 60 or 70 jumps away so a couple of hours later I had bought myself a Domi and went to join him. I think I was making about 500,000 ISK a minute and I'm only up to 2 Gas Harvesters. I think I have a profession to go back to when I get bored of wandering :)
Anyway it took me a while to get back to the Cheetah but back I am. Now to find another low-sec area to meander through. I'm thinking Solitude is a nice quiet-sounding area.
Thanks for the info about the Angels. There are a number of strange bits and pieces in the corners of our galaxy and it's nice to know a bit more about that one.

Solitude? One horse town. Not even a pub to liven it up. Been and gone in an hour once I actually got there. Moved on to Verge Vendor. The route is through Solitude. Watch out for that 6-CZ gate camp on the Reblier gate.
There were 6 or 8 ships there. I didn't count too closely. A bunch of drones, some cans on the bubble in places but nothing coordinated. An alliance mate was in system but leaving again by the other gate but I decided to go through - around is not an option generally. It doesn't help that the gate isn't near any celestial objects. Have to warp there blind without the benefit of Scanning. With only a 'dictor bubble it's hard to place your decloakers accurately so my warp from an unlikely planet was undisturbed, even though I got sucked in to the bubble. After that it was an easy walk to the gate and low-sec. Blessed bubble-free low-sec.
System Threat Level: Moderate.

Verge Vendor is another blinkable region. Perhaps Essence will provide some more interest. One thing it did provide is the xxx Encryption Methods books. They've come down in price a little since I was last in Empire. Bought the first 6 months back fo 60 or 70m. Bought the remaining 3 for 30m between them.

Essence, schmessence. The notes say it all: And I thought empire would be boring. Well, it is, but the prize for the best system name so far has to go to "Old Man Star" :)

I've run into an interesting problem - I have an insatiable lust for new skills. Trouble is I've spent the last 4 months travelling and training but not earning ISKies. Now that I'm back in empire all those tasty skills looked soooo yummy. I'm down to under 30m and about 5 skills richer :)
I think I have to stop for some R&R with a nice little level 3 agent I know ... Maybe after Placid.

Edited by: Nova Fox on 21/02/2008 03:27:19 Old Man Star has a back story to it, according to the chronicles the team sent (conventional warpspace) to build the gate to that star system lost all of the people cept for one man who spent most of his natural life completing the gate project. One day the gate activated and the sole surivior of the team finally made it home. Became a celb and owner of his own company.
YOu should change the topic to "CCP ive done it! all 5K+ systems visted." when you reach the last star.

Aridia? You're way too late. Aridia was my first region after 0.0 And it's low-sec. Short of a BS with Smartbombs and a good sense of timing there's no way to stop a Cov Ops in low-sec.

Placid completed. It completely lived up to its name. I don't even have any notes. I'm finding Empire's like that. No-one waches local so I get no responses from hails. So much so that I've given up hailing new systems as I enter. I can't be bothered flying to every NPC station. They just aren't interesting enough. Nothing like watching a bunch of Hulks run for cover as my Cheetah flies into their system :) Mission running is done. It's tough at the moment 'cause my alliance is in 2 wars so mission running in empire is far more dangerous than ratting out in our 0.0 space. Anyway. 2 missions & 40m ISK later I'll get back in the saddle. A couple of spare ships is plenty for this part of the trip. Lonetrek next - that's the mission hub I chose so that's the region I'll explore.

Jeran, this is the coolest thing I've ever read in EVE. I knew I picked the right MMO to come to after that watered down joke of a MMO, WoW. Seeing that there's people around who do stuff like this just confirms it. You actually made me register on the forums to say 'grats'. :)
Hail when you come through Heimetar, around the Rens/Abudan area we're plenty friendly, and you will attract Forrest Gump-ish followers too.
Good travels to you!

Lord Rue. Welcome to the fora. Now, if you're a reasonalbe person with any shred of sanity remaining I'd suggest you stay away from now on ;)
As for the rest of you degenerates, the journey continues. Lonetrek has been seen. That's 51 regions now. 12 to go comprising 1080 systems. I've mapped the path for The Forge. Yes, that includes Jita. After that I'll be down under 1000. Let's see if I can make that milestone by the end of the weekend :)

I haven't done this in a while. The circle tightens on the colourless dots...
Didn't finish The Forge this weekend. 65 jumps short. Tomorrow, maybe.
There's a little backwater constellation out there that you can only get to THROUGH Jita. I wonder why anyone ever chooses to go there.

I flew into the light for a few days, I made it to 25K, someone left a shuttle with the distance in the name. By the time i made it someone else took it as their's and I was shortly after probed down and destroyed. It does take some wicked screenshots in starmap though! Awesome read Jeran!

That's excellent, I've been following your progress and I kept an eye out for you as you went through Lonetrek but didn't spot you.
I think your final screenshot should be in New Eden, I had the same nice surprise as you when I went there a while ago.

I haven't made it through Lonetrek yet. Weekends tend to get eaten by the kids. Hopefully I'll have some time this week to play at US times :)

The Forge is past (Yay! No more JITA!) and The Citadel is 1/3rd complete. It hardly seems more than a numbers game at this point. over 80% complete. Under 1000 systems to go. At my current rate I should finish just before my brithday in mid-April.
Something to look forward to :)

The Citadel provided no challenge - well beyond that of changing client machines anyway. Did you know that waypoints are stored on your local machine? When I swap to the laptop my carefully planned out route doesn't exist! Grrr. Wandered a bit of some next-door region on the laptop then returned to my exit system for the desktop. Now I'm off to Kor-Azor to fill in that annoying spot in the lower left corner...
