What if carriers and mother ships were alound to have players dock in them like a station so that they could be jumped from system to system. It would make a carrier more carrier like and I think it could encourage them to be more of a suport ship. Fill a carrier with cepters frigs or a couple cruisers then jump a few carriers on your enemies and launch all the suport. It would leave the prob of what happens if the pilot logs and your in the carrier but this could be fixed easy just make it so if the pilot logs off and your logged on in the carrier. You cant get out till he is done warping off. If you log in while the carrier is logged out you just come out at where he logged out at, but cant get back in. And if you log in while he is in station you can just move to the station.

This request has been on the books for atleast a year.
My contrib is to allow people to dock into carriers and FPS fighters ;)

I'd go so far as to say the Fighter not be a drone at all, but a real player flyable ship that can only be entered by having your pod on a carrier. You couldn't own/fly one out of a station or outpost, only off a carrier.
Or perhaps this: The carrier actually carried real ships, in numbers based upon the cargo hold size you could carry, for argument's sake just to toss out numbers, 70 Frigate Class Ships, 60 Cruiser Class ships, 20 BattleCruiser Class Ships and 15 Battleship Class Ships if you so desired at one time. The pilots docked inside see exactly what they see in a station. The Carrier pilot flys to the destination point and all ships disembark (much like what happens at a station) to fly off to fight.

I thought carriers could hold people when I heard about them also.

Titans, Moms and Rorquals have Clone Vat Bays. I've yet to hear of anyone actually using them.
With just a little bit of foreplanning, you can have what you want with the existing gear. But no one seems to think that it is worth doing.

I already do that in real life. I don't need a damn carrier. Now, give me your money or your life.
