Tidal wave incoming!!!
Anybody near the coast that would be affected by this? I know it's late, but 'Officials' are saying to not go to bed tonight. ____________________

I, for one, will miss Britain.
It will be an enjoyable scuba dive next summer, however. ---------

I meant people directly on the coast (within a mile). I don't know how large the Tidal wave is going to be, so let me rephrase that. "Everybody PANIC!!! "
That better? ____________________

Yeah I'm at Deal, on the east coast of Kent, I'd heard someone mention flooding and had even seen the headline on the BBC website but didn't take any notice until now!
They say that where I am will only be at the edge of things, and I live on a hill anyway so I should be fine, not so good for people living on the seafront and those a bit further up the coast though!
Tomorrow could be interesting...

Haha, i'm safe all the way over in Wales.
However, on a more serious note I hope that nobody is hurt and the event passes swiftly.

Sliiightly concerned, not overly so. Bout a mile inland, further north from the supposed danger area, near skegness. Very worrying though, given it could be me easy enough....
Damn weather, had some really bad stuff over the last year or so... Although ide prefer stuff like this to tornados and hurricanes etc, so nobody jump in with the "people elsewhere have it much worse." I know, i appreciate that....

I'm not worried. This bit of Sheffield didn't get flooded and my parents house in Wales is up a hill. The rest of the town, however, might be in for a bad weekend.

Actually Cardiff is listed as at risk of serious flooding...

Depends where in Wales he lives. Some bits are much more floodable than others.

Fortunately for wales, nothing of importance occurs in Cardiff.
I live way way over on the west, in the middle of a big bit of nothing, on top of a hill.

My god, if Essex gets wipes out we're going have to start importing in our exotic dancers from other countries. Actualy perhaps this is a blessing in disguise.

I'm sitting in Edinurgh. I find it a blessing that so far the sea deffences have held, but I heard that the Thames Barrier has been lowered? Anyone know how much it will cost to upgrade these things again? 20 Billion pounds I think, around 42.2 Billion US, it's funny how quikly the US value went down isn't it? Did you see the articles abut $5 ice creams in London due to the exchange rate?
