Now not to sound silly...but how does a sheet (or sheets) of metal need power or cpu?
I am just a bit curious wondering if I missed something.
For instance,
1600mm Reinforced Steel Plates I
Powergrid Requirement:800 MW
CPU Requirement:60 tf
Not to mention that better armor plates need more cpu?
So again I ask for information on why? :p
I just dont see the logic.
I could see ship mass change. But not power and cpu.

Would you still do that if that added enough mass to make a mwd no better than a ab?
Shouldn't an industrial be able to equip large armor plates?
It would fix alot of probs people have with indys....
Mass modification to ship mass status would effect everything about being fast (making it tons slower), making more sence for something that weighs tons to add armor to a ship to increase its defence capabilities. Having large cpu and powergrid requirments makes it not vialable to anything but a bs.

Would make a whole lot more sence than juicing a chunk of metal with power and using cpu for who knows why on it when it's a stationary module.
Bigger plates would have bigger bonuses and have a bigger mass hit or fixed mass addition.

Again mass could cause that...no where is there a mass modification to ship for having this. The only compinsation that the ship may need is speed boosters to accommodate the additional mass. CPU is used for the control of electronic devices. Power is to supply them with power to opperate. A sheet of metal need neither but does add weight in a world with physics. Mass increase could very well affect agility, speed, inertia. The more armor the slower, less manuverable you would be. Leaving you a more accurate hit on stats for using it.

I dont recall that being a definition to the trade off when using armor plating.
