Makes armour tanking more viable i suppose, although i thought it might have been that 100% of your armour would need to be destroyed before the hull takes damage. But actually 75% damage makes more sense

so if your hull starts to take damage when your armor gets below 75% then why doesnt your armor start to take damage when your shields get below 75%?
how many sets of rules have we got in this game?

Ok where is the patch? Is this some sick joke?

I expected when i hit patch notes on my client and it says the current build is 1400 or whatever and my client says 1389. I get scared.

I don't get it, what kind of scenarios are they talking about? It can't be agent mission. What have I missed in Eve?

Because the armor is part of the ship, the shields are a barrier surrounding it. No damage can leak through to armor because nothing gets past the shield until it's down, period. (My god man, watch Star Trek. It's like that, only without all the shaking and overacting.)
But the armor is attached to your ship, so there's a good bet that something the armor is protecting could still get damaged even while the armor is still there, from impact, etc.

I thought they had updated this in a hotfix a while back. Have I been flying with no insurance all this time!!?
Ahhh here it is, it's not a new thing:
******** Saturday, 14 February, 2004
Reduced death penalty
We have released a server update to TQ that gives all ships that explode, without having insurance, 40% default coverage.

Well, having 75% Armordamage to have damage sneak through the armor, means your armor beeing at 25%, not at 75%

A correct assumption from the premise, based on a false premise. The patchnotes say hull will start to take damage once armor is below 75%: it was some later poster who took this to mean, once the armor is 75% damaged.

watch startrek and u will see that there ship takes damage (console exploding etc) while there shields are still up.
I think it was during beta and early release that u had damage seeping through your shields, infact i know it wass deff in when eve was first released cause i use to kill NPC cruisers in my puny even though i couldnt actually get there shields 100% down, but for some reason ccp seem to have taken that out now

I CAN'T wait! this is finally fixed, the biggest *ever* 'exploit' allowing some people to aquire vast amounts of mineras they shouldn't have ever been able to get. Watch the market price go up on the top end minerals. It'll take a bit, due to the massive stockpiles some corps/people have, but never the less - it will go up.
anybody selling megacyte at 8k still? I could use an investement. :)
